Feigned Love

Both Karma and Rio were doing their projects for science in Karma's house. It was a bit chaotic. At first, the two were playing games like valorant, cooking their meals and planning their usual teasing of their classmates. Until they come to the conclusion that they need to stop and start their project that needs to be passed the next day.

Their project was just a simple observation of what Koro sensei gave them. It was a particular rock with lots of essential things to use. After doing the observation, they are provided with a rubric to do a report in class after their discussion in history.

Karma and Rio are both competitive with each other and get on each other's neck when it comes to academics and lots of other things, so why is that? Because they both love to make a deal, that would be both a good and a bad thing.

The two are evaluating each other's weaknesses in how they are reporting their project. Karma points out that Rio is weak when it comes to explaining things thoroughly, while Rio points out Karma's position.

"You seriously need to stand like a man, you know." Rio commented after Karma finished his practice. He looked at her questionably, "What do you mean?" Rio shook her head, stood up, and went next to him.

"Dude, you literally stand like this and your hand is always in your pocket. It is not professional at all!" She said and did the exact same standing position he did earlier. Karma looked at her and smirked. "It seems you have more knowledge than me about these things."

She smirked, putting her hands behind her back and giving him a big smile. "Huhuhu, because it is needed." Then she went back to sit down on the couch, looking at the paper that she's going to present. He went beside her and analyzed his own papers too. It was indeed a good composition to report.

Rio did a good job making the report. Karma also helped, but he was focused on the food, so he only did a bit, but he still had the points of sharing his own ideas to their project. The two were good for each other, not afraid of pointing out each other's weaknesses but helping each other for their own benefit. What an interesting relationship.

After an hour, Rio decided it was time for her to go home. It was already 7 pm and her brother would be worried about where she was now. But before they go out, they first clean their things out and return them to where they belong.

The blonde-haired girl took her shoe and put it on while the red-headed boy opened the door, waiting for the girl to finish putting her shoes on. They talked about preparing their presentation while going out of the gate, but when Rio bid goodbye to Karma, a woman in her thirties interrupted their conversation, making their heads turn to her.

"Oh my, Karma I didn't know you would invite someone in." She commented while giving the two a warm smile and fiercely looked at Karma, making him flinch a bit.

"Who-" Rio was about to speak up, but she was interrupted by Karma. "Mother, I didn't know you would be back." He replied to the older woman and looked at the girl beside him. Rio gave him a shocked face and bowed at the woman.

"I'm so sorry for coming here. I'm Nakamura Rio, Karma's classmate." The woman only gave her a gentle smile and took her hand to shake with her. Rio also returned the greetings and noticed a man behind the woman. This must be his father.

"It's nice to meet you, dear. I'm Karma's mother." She looked at the girl, then looked at her son. "Karma, I didn't know you would be like this."

"Well, mother, people change." Karma replied and looked at his father, heading towards him and giving him a hug. "Welcome home, father and mother." He returned the hug while Rio stood awkwardly beside him, unable to believe he had such an attitude.

"But I thought you guys were going to visit here after the new year." He said, earning a glance from his mother. "That was our plan but we changed it," she replied, looking at the girl. "I know that you're my son's classmate, but what is your relationship with him?"

Rio was about to comment, but she was interrupted again by him. "Like I said, I'm his cl-" Karma put his hands on her hips, making her closer to him, and gave them a loving smile, "My girlfriend."

It seems both the parent's and teen's worlds were stopped by two words that came out of the younger boy's mouth.

Wha-Are you kidding me?! She screams internally while looking at Karma with a shock expression written on her face. KARMA, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING? Karma gave her an eye smile and whispered to her, "Just play along, please."

Please?! She heard him plead to her. That was the first time. Knowing Karma, he won't plead to anyone in his life except for his parents only, but to her?!

"Oh my, Karma, you have a girlfriend? Oh my gosh honey, we should celebrate this surprising surprise." She said it enthusiastically while the husband was still in his stiffened mode, yet he stood up straight and agreed with his wife.

His dense, unromantic, arrogant, and masochist son has a girlfriend. Of course, as a father, he is proud that he is in a relationship. It made him think of his early twenties when he asked his wife out. It made him a bit emotional at the thought of that.

"Haha yes, I do have a girlfriend and here she is." Rio was the same way, but still panicking inside, as Karma said, his hand still on her hips while making a loving smile.

"We should eat inside, and my dear, you should stay for dinner. Tell your parents that you'll eat here, okay? " The older woman said and took Rio's arms as she entered the house.

"Haha, okay." Rio replied. She wanted to decline the invitation, but it seems she can't turn it down. She looked behind her, Karma's father giving his son a thumbs up and smacking his body from behind, making Karma unbalanced.

His father had a joyful expression on his face while patting Karma's head, then he went to catch up with them.

Karma, on the other hand, looked at Rio with a teasing smile and went towards them, locking the gate.

I'm not sure what was going through your head when you decided to make me your girlfriend, but I'll play along with this feigned love of ours.
