I looked in the corner of my eye every so often staring at the new guy that just walked inside the elevator and pushed himself between me and Lilac.

What the fuck?

Tara kept looking up at me and my dumbass was getting mixed signals from her.

"Lila it's been some time."

"Yeah." She said staring at her feet

He looked at her up and down before he slightly looked at me making me move my eyes to stare at the door.

Just four more levels.

"Are you doing anything this weekend?" The guy asked again

"Adam we broke up for a reason." She mumbled

"That doesn't mean anything." Adam said turning his body to face hers

"Yeah it does dumbass she didn't want your ass anymore." Tara spoke up before looking at me again

I watched as Lila bite her lip and moved her eyes to look at me also.

She's crying.

"Why do you keep looking at him?" Adam asked turning to face me

Tara mouthed something that I couldn't understand but I hope what I'm about to do and say, that I will never have to do this again.

"Look bro I don't know you and to be honest I don't even want to stand here and get to know you." I started

He raised a eyebrow before turning back towards the girls.

"Now if would gladly move." I leaned over grabbing Lila by her wrist I pulled her into my chest where she hid her face

And soon Tara moved over by me to as she stared at Adam.

"I will like to take my girlfriend and her friend to the mall." I smirked

And once the doors opened I pulled Lila out with me taking her to my car to make it more believable as Tara followed mumbling under her breath.

"Fucking hell he doesn't live here." She mumbled

I looked behind me to make sure the guy wasn't around before removing my arm from Lilas waist.

"Thank you." She whispered wiping her eyes

"Look I don't want to be inbetween whatever that shit was. That was a one time thing only, got it?" I said

Tara shook her head "We might need you around more often Sam, what could we do to I don't know I guess pay you back?"

I slightly smiled "Come to the boxing match in the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town and just fucking bet on me."

Tara nodded before grabbing Lilac and left going to the opposite side of the parking garage.
