Frodo x Reader

Frodo was quite oblivious 

You had had a crush on the boy for years everyone knew it and it was hard to believe after so long he still never took a hint. 

You were walking around in the forest when you heard familiar humming. You ran to the noise and hid behind a tree and smiled at the sight, Frodo climbing a tree trying not to drop his book. You smiled. You ran up to hi surprising hi causing him to fall back to the ground. 

"Hello Frodo" he got back up on his feet to greet you properly 

"Hey y/n" He said with his normal smile 

"Whatcha doing there" you say giggling as he dusted off his clothes 

"Um trying to read" he says sheepishly 

He gives up and takes a seat in the grass at the base of the tree he tried to climb before. Patting his hand in the grass next to him he motioned you to sit down, and you do. You take a seat next to him. 

"What are you reading"

"Just an old book I found while cleaning with Uncle"

You looked over to see the old book. It was brown and looked coarse and fragile, a small bookmark was poking out of the bottom signaling thats where Frodo had stopped reading. 

"Do you want me to read to you"He said turning to you 

You looked up to see what he asked as well but him turning to you as well brought your faces closer than comfortable. You could feel the tips of your ears heat up as you turned away once more pretending you saw something in the grass.

"Yes I would like that, i-if you dont mind"

He smiles and opens up the book to the page he was on and he began reading. For what seemed like hours passed as Frodo read the book to you and answering any questions you had as well as hearing out what you had to say. 

The sun started to set and the clouds were beautiful shades of purple pink and yellow, the forest started to dim as the shadows of the tall trees casted over the two of you. Frodo was about to begin the next chapter of the book when he felt a small thump on his shoulder, 

Frodo surprised, closed the book setting it down in his lap and looking over slightly to see you soundly sleeping on his shoulder. 

He didnt know what to do other than sit there until he gave a small smile. He leant down to his side placing his lips softly on yours waking you up enough to comprehend what was going on. Your face went a deep shade of red as Frodo softly smiled looking down at you. 

"F-frodo?"

"Hmmm yes"

"Y-you-"

"I know" He said standing up and putting the book in his bag

You followed helplessly searching for a decent answer though you werent exactly mad. Before you could ask him again he turned around quick and picked you up throwing you over his shoulder butmaking sure your face was next to his so he cold see your reaction. 

"HEY! Frodo put me down"

"No I dont think I will"He smiled and continued walking

"Frodo please put me down"You continued trying not to burst out laughing your face a brighter red than the flowers Sam had in his front yard 

The rest of the walk continued with Frodo carrying you and putting you down from time to time to spin you and make you think he wouldnt pick you up again. Until he took you home and then the fun was over 

Smiling down at you Frodo leaned down and gave you a light kiss before walking down your steps waving goodbye and leaving to his own home. Leaving you a flustered mess you go inside and quickly shut the door

"I-im not in love am I?" You ask your self burying your head in your hands unable to stop your heart from beating out of your chest
