"So, patrol for this afternoon. Yeah?"

You stared at Shinoa's squad and Narumi's squad while going over the paperwork on the clipboard. Then, as you groaned, you cast a glance toward your supervisor, Guren Ichinose. "So, I'll divide you into pairs so that we can cover more of the areas allotted."

You snickered and snapped your fingers with a loud click as you pointed toward Yoichi. "Hey, archer boy. You're with me." You spoke as Yuichiro interjected and Kimizuki's shoulders were jarred by the direct response. "Aren't we supposed to be in pairs?"

"It's even, is it not?" You said bluntly as Mitsuba stared in disbelief, "Did you learn your math?! Clearly not! I mean, look at the Narumi squad—"

You cut her remarks off along with Yuichiro's complaints as your kunai just barely missed them over the shoulder as you glared at them harshly before blinking back with a delighted smile on your face as you chuckled. "Oh, dear. It seems I've missed coincidentally~"

Yuichiro shuddered as you inched closer to the boy and strengthened your hold on his collar. Your sinister glare was so menacing that it might murder just by appearance. "Perhaps the Lieutenant Colonel never ever introduced you to me," Guren grumbled at your behavior before eventually finding the resolve to introduce you.

"From the Yukimi family. This is Y/n Yukimi, one of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army's special second lieutenants." He introduced as Shinoa gasped, "So your older sister must be—"

"I wouldn't call her my older sister since I was adopted, but I would call her someone who loves profoundly for me despite the fact that I was a meek child at the time." Guren flicked your forehead, causing you to grimace. "Okay okay! The Yukimi Family, however, has a strong loyalty to the Ichinose Clan. Since the same day, I stepped foot in the Yukimi Residence, I have retained my allegiance."

"That's enough about me. Can we go patrol now?" You sighed as they all looked at each other before shrugging, "Great, now, archer boy. You're coming with me, we'll have to get higher ground."

"U-Uhm. My name is Yoichi."

"Okay fine. Yoichi, you're coming with me so hurry up."

Your legs hung over the edge as he was attempting to calm his anxiety, you straightened your body and decided to stand up, coming up to Yoichi as you leaned down, and you looked at him. "Is this your first time?" You asked.

"I- never done this before." He pants.

"I see. Alright, I'll spare some patience." You responded by cracking your knuckles and gesturing to the edge, directing him to sit around, as he attentively followed your instructions. "Alright. Take a deep breath to settle your tensions; otherwise, your arrows will go in the opposite direction of where the target should be."

"Feel the cold breeze and you should be fine." His gaze focused anxiously as he tried to take deep breaths as you smacked a palm on his back, causing him to gasp. "W-What was that for?"

"I said focus, Yoichi. Trust me." He nods as you see his chest rise from his soothing technique as he takes a deep breath before properly calling out his weapon. "Oh adapted? Quite quickly as well." He shrugs and says, "I have you with me, I should be doing so...right?"

"Hm. Alright, let's fix your posture." You said this as your hands traced up to his hands, trying to improve his posture and placement of his hands on the bow while omitting to see the deep redness on his face before pulling away. "There we go. Now, try to detect the enemy from here."

You stepped over to the edge as your feet hung again as you summoned your linked kunais to a bunch as you clutched onto the rails for support as you saw Yoichi attempt to lock his target as he recoiled, "Enemy locked!" He says.

"Eh?— Go, launch the attack!" You replied as he let go of the string on the box, the arrow landed noisily on the ground before your eyes flashed at the sight. "Dammit, it's no ordinary vampire." You exclaimed to Yoichi as you flinched and glimpsed a red light flash.

"HOLD ON TO THE RAILINGS!" You murmured this as you firmly held the tower you and Yoichi were on began to slowly crumble as if you were both in the predicament of being buried under the rubble, Yoichi's eyes filled with fear when you abruptly missed your footing and had to upright yourself using your chained kunai that was fastened to the handrails.

"Y-Y/n!"

"I'm- fine! Aim as many vampires as you can, the other squad will deal with the noble!" You shouted as he hissed, "O-Okay!"

Yoichi successfully dispatched the normal vampires before extending out to you as you strained to climb back onto the ledge without trying to fall to your death. You were scanning around for another strategy as you struggled to prevent exerting your arms. "Grab on!"

"The building's about to fall, Yoichi! I can't! We need to jump!" You yelled as he tightly grasped your hand as you slung both your weights downward as you landed on a steady perch, your chains dissipated with your hand attempting to safeguard Yoichi's ailment. "Y/n!" He yelled when the structure eventually collapsed, as you were trying to shield Yoichi from the falling rubble.

After the calamity, Yoichi endeavored to recover you from the wreckage with Mitsuba and Narumi's assistance, practically taking responsibility for your current condition. "I found them!" Yuichiro screamed out as Yoichi dashed to where he was as they discovered you with bruises and cuts as Kimizuki scowled at the sight.

Narumi pulls you out as Yoichi caught you in his arms, "Y/n? Y/n?!" He adds in a frightened tone as your eyelids slowly open and your gaze falls on his tearful glossy eyes as you softly giggle, "Are you crying?"

"You ask that when you're injured and all? That's so heartless and cruel of you, Y/n." Shinoa pouted as Yoichi brought you close, "I-I'm sorry! You were protecting me and I never made an attempt to do the same!" He cried.

"Yoichi, don't blame yourself for the decision I took to protect you. And if you made it in one shape, I guess I did fairly well, huh?" You replied as he hugged you tightly, "I'm sorry...I'm sorry. I should've known better."

"Yoichi. You're going to kill me with that hug of yours than any vampire would!" You choked out.

Yuichiro was trying to bandage up your arms as you all made your way back to the base, but he was failing miserably at it as you witnessed him fumble with a small grin on your face. "You're struggling there."

"Shut up. I can do this." He lies. Yuichiro sighed loudly in aggravation as the bandages fell off your arm again, causing you to furrow your brow. "UGHH! DAMMITT!" He yelled.

"Yuu? Are you trying to tend to Y/n?" Yoichi says as he walks into the tent, looking inside, "Yeah. Stupid bandages wouldn't stay." He scoffed. Yoichi chuckles awkwardly as he takes the bandages and tries his best to tend to your bruises and wounds as you watch him with cautious eyes, and he finishes with a smile.

"There we go."

"Woah. You're better than that idiot over there." You gaped making Yuichiro yell furiously, "EHH?!"

"Yuichiro, go complain to Lieutenant Colonel if you're gonna keep yelling like this." You responded with an eye roll as he huffed and marched out of the tent, leaving you with Yoichi who remained motionless observing your bandages, you gave the boy a glance as you seized his collar and leaned forward, almost taking him by surprise.

You grinned cunningly as you chuckled, rosy cheeks rising on his face from that straightforward move just now as you peered frankly. "You're quite easy to tease." You chuckled and slipped your hair behind your ear as you released his collar. "Aha~ I have to say though."

"Yoichi, you've piqued my interest. I'll concede that, but let's go slowly now lest we find ourselves in a situation where things are moving too quickly." You smiled and puffed your cheeks as you fluffed his hair.

"See ya, Chitome!"
