What Lies Between the Waves

**~Chapter~14~The Rescue & The Decision~**

Sharon's POV(yea!! =3)

The rooms that Raina let us have was amazing! Three waterfalls, that were flowing backwards, crept up the wall making it look like the walls were made of water. The bed that was in the middle was surrounded by a gurgling creek, salt water of course. Little fish of different colors swam around in circles happily.

This place was something out of my dream! I flopped down on the bed and sighed deeply.

"this place is great!" I shouted, my voice echoing around.

"I know, I never thought anything like this was even possible outside movies and dreams." My mommy said flopping down next to me.

"right? It's all thanks to Derik and his hunk slash prince, slash merman, slash sexy ass, slash..."

"okay!" she interrupted, "I get it, you approve." She laughed.

"oh I more than approve, if I wasn't for the vajajay I would let him..."

"to much info!"

I giggled, my mommy was so innocent at times, so I decided for her sake to change the subject, "those clothes make you look smexy mommy."

And I wasn't lying, Raina had come in with two sets of the mermaid modern clothing, a dark brown cloth bra that had a bunch of green studs in them, and a similar brown skirt that was slit up both sides, and a silky pair of shorts that were so short that they might as well have been panties. A swirling pattern of green studs that made its way around the front of the skirt.

Mine was similar only it was the opposite colors, I wore a bright green skirt and bra and the studs were red. I looked fucking smexy too.

We both gossiped like teenagers, I mean can you imagine? A forty-three year old mother and her twenty-two year old daughter whispering secrets to each other and giggling.

Funny stuff over here.

That's why I didn't hear anyone come in, I felt a sharp blow to my head, and I instantly blacked out, but not before hearing my mother scream, it sounded exactly like the one she screamed when she saw Aaron raping me for the first time.

Derik's POV

I was swimming fast, faster than the guards that swam ahead of me could towards my family's room.

I jumped through the barrier, Hayle was standing there right beside their bed. I cried out when I saw the blood, it caked the sheets, and I fell beside it. This was not happening, my pain was slowly turning into hate and anger, "Who?" I asked Hayle who knelt down beside me.

"the trackers were on their trail, but it grew cold after they exited the city." He explained.

I stood quickly and headed for the barrier, "it's somewhere to start." But before I could get out, Hayle pulled me back into a tight embrace that shattered my anger and brought freash tears streaming down my face.

"its alright Derik, we will find them." He soothed, "let's go inform my mother and father and see what they think we should do alright?"

I nodded, and we both stepped through the barrier. He guided me to the throne room, my tail being so long was dragging on the floor, even it couldn't stand the fact that they were gone, again.

When the doors opened, Raina and the king were both surrounded by three armed mermen and two important looking mermaids. They all looked up when we entered, Raina came over trying to sooth me as well, "it's alright, our generals here have sent out all of their remaining fleet to search for them."

To some extent it did make me feel better, but Hayle had to ruin it by saying, "where is General Frey?"

His mother glared at him, and dragged him to a corner, I heard whispers, but couldn't make out their words, but I guess it was bad since he stormed out of the hall.
