The Muramasa swords are unique katanas created by Muramasa Sengo who wielded the sacred gear: Sword Birth. The Muramasa blades were consisted his greatest and strongest blades that he ever created. Azazel himself exclaimed that the muramasa swords were Muramasa Sengo's balance breaker and the strongest blade he ever created in his life was given his name which Azazel currently has in his possession.

Appearance:

While all the Muramasa swords are katanas. Some have different designs. The one that Azazel's has and the strongest out of them all carrying a demonic appearance with skulls and a rigged blade.

Summary:

The Muramasa blades are considered one of Japan's greatest line of blades ever created. The creator of the blades is Muramasa Sengo who was the wielder of the sacred gear: Sword Birth.

In his life Muramasa awakened his balance breaker that allowed him to create incredible strong katanas that could rival other legendary swords with the cost of the wielder becoming blinded by bloodlust and rage.

In the end of his life muramasa still wanted to create a blade to surpass the: Honjō Masamune who was considered superior than his own muramasa blades. In the end Muramasa create a final katana using his lifeforce as a sacrifice to enhance the power of his final sword. In the end Muramasa died and left behind his most powerful katana created which was given his own name: Muramasa.

Azazel revealed that he himself gave the information to Muramasa about using the user's lifeforce for greater power and was present when Muramasa create his final blade. Azazel was the one who named the sword after the creator and kept it ever since as Azazel stated the power of the blade could rival the demon emperor blade: Gram.

Powers and abilities:

Ominous aura: dispite being a demonic blade. The Muramasa doesn't actually have a demonic aura but a more ominous aura like Canis Lykaon. Azazel stated the Muramasa uses the emotion and will of his wielder to enhance itself with its aura and in return uses its aura to enhance the user in return. It was revealed that the ominous aura is strong enough to make its enemies tremble in fear and when cut by it causes spiritual damage to the enemy. It also weakens the effects of regeneration and healing magic.

Enhanced physical capabilities: when wielding the Muramasa. The user is also granted with enhanced strenght, speed, reflexes and endurance.

Weakness:

Dispite it great power. Muramasa is known for causing the user to go berserk and being blinded by bloodlust. Azazel Also stated that the Muramasa that he possesses actually choses it wielder revealing that the sword has a sort of consciousness like the holy sword Durandal or demonic sword Gram.

Trivia:

Muramasa is the wielder of sword birth before Yuuto Kiba and was stated to be the best at creating swords in history.
