Yours eyes were widen like an open field at the well presented meal that was in front of you.

It had been awhile since you've eaten a perfectly, cooked meal and you were grateful that Rimuru allowed you to have that opportunity.

"Thank you for the meal." You praised before digging in.

"You should thank Shuna. She made this especially for you." Rimuru softly smiled as he watched you stuff your face in with rice.

Your face distant itself from the meal as you spoke with muffled voice. "Sorry for keeping you away from your people. I prefer to speak with you alone on this matter."

"It's totally fine." The man hummed. "I'm sure you won't do anything to harm me in any way." It was more of so that he just couldn't sense any powers from you so he felt less guarded. "Anyways, why don't we continue with our conversation? You said your place was destroyed by a storm? And you need a place to stay?"

You nodded.

"Then I will gladly help you."

You gasped. "Really?!" You dropped your bowl of food unintentionally and gave the golden eye man a hug. "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"In one condition, though." You couldn't hear him for all you were thinking about was finally having a place to stay at.

"We can finally get married and my people wouldn't have to be so skeptical."

"Wait- Married?"

".. Yes..." You removed your arms from around him. "That was one of the... Deals.. I had in mind." You both stayed quiet for a moment at your statement.

Oh goodness. Just when you thought everything was going to plan.

"I'll," Rimuru started. "I'll only marry you.. If you work under me." Your eyes widen at his request.

Working under someone? What? No... No, no, no.

"Work under you?"

"Yes."

You were very much taken aback by what the man had said.

"Then what's the point of the marriage if I'm just going to follow whatever you say and do?"

"You're just going to be my subordinate. No big deal." Rimuru shrugged his shoulders.

"No big deal?" You groaned. "As queen of the elf kingdom, I demand that you marry me!"

Rimuru was stunned by your boisterous tone. Not only at your outburst, but to the random declaration; his eyes began widen in surprise.

"You're a queen?"

"I am." You answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Of the elf society in the northwest to be exact."

The blue head still seemed astonished at the information, but his eyes couldn't help but wonder towards your chest that was covered by your pink dress. "Definitely an elf," he muttered.

"Eyes on me." You scowled. "Ugh. Maybe it was a bad idea coming to this village. I should've had Elith take my place instead." You placed your hand on your forehead in distress.

"No, no, no!" Rimuru was quick to dismiss your doubtful muttering. "I'm.. Honored to have you come to my village, but.. May I ask one question?"

You acknowledged him with a hum.

"Why do you want to marry me? Is it because you just need a place to stay? What's the reason?"

You let out a tired sigh. "I promised my people that I'll figure out our living situation. They don't know that I, as well as my higher ups, are searching around for places for us to stay. Whether it's with other races, in a broken down but stable place, I don't care. As long as we have a place to stay." You exhaled. "My people are also quite stubborn. Marrying you makes them aware that I trust you and it'll make them more comfortable to do many things." You stared at Rimuru in his golden eyes. "So yeah.. I guess I only want to marry you to have a place to stay." It was quiet for a moment as Rimuru tried to process the situation.

"I see. So you're not doing this for yourself, but for everyone in your kingdom."

"Yes." You answered the man's question. "But I understand if it's too much for you. If it's too much pressure." You bowed slightly. "I'll get go-"

"Let's do it then."

"Maybe next ti- Wait.. What?"

"I say let's get married. Forget you working under me. I'd kinda feel bad knowing that the elf kingdom is struggling to even live in comfort because of me. It's only fair that I help." Your eyes lit up at his decision. Was he really going to help? "But.." Your eyes quickly dimmed down. What does he want now? Is he gonna ask for something more than he requested before? Perhaps you spoke too soon. "Eh. I'll think about it as we go on." You relaxed yourself and released a satisfying sigh.

"Thank you so much, Rimuru." You gave the man another hug. "I'll never forget this."

"We don't have to get married right away, but your people can stay with me for as long as they can." He returned the hug, his flustered face going unnoticed by you. "But if it's okay with you, I'll like to visit your kingdom to see how bad the damage is." You released yourself from the hug and quickly nodded at his request.

"Of course. When will it be?"

"In two weeks."

"Right."

You were glad everything went as plan, even if you followed the wrong formular.
