Starving questions

Atsushis pov :
He wakes up to sound coming from the kitchen .
He gets up and runs in .
"Morning Atsushi . You ok ? Cold by any chance ?"
He stands there staring at Dazai .
"I forget you were here sorry . Cold ?"
Dazai pulls at his shirt .
Atsushi goes to pull of his .
He's not wearing one .
"Oh my god sorry "
He places his head in his hands .
"It's fine but we better get going soon . How'd you get those scars from ? "
Atsushi has scars all over his torso , back and arms .
"Oh I got it from the orphanage I was clumsy "
"Oh ok better get ready "
He goes to his room and changes .
He and Dazai leave for work .
"Here have this you haven't had anything this morning "
Dazai hands him an apple .
"Oh thanks "
He takes a bite as they enter the office .
He gets a few stares since he hasn't eaten Infront of anyone in ages .
"Morning Atsushi . Glad your eating something"
Tanizaki pat's him on the back .
Atsushi smiles and nods and sits down .
Putting the apple to one side .
He finished his report on a case they did a few weeks ago .
"Atsushi you need to go with Yosano . There's a shoplifter that needs talking to "
He nods at kunikida .
He and Yosano head out to the town .
"Atsushi I'm gonna do the talking so you can see how it's done ok "
"Ok "
They head to the back of a shop where the person is .
An employee lets them through .
Hunched over in a chair is a 13 year old boy .
"He attempted to steal two energy drinks and a lighter "
The employee leaves .
Atsushi stands in the corner while Yosano talks to him .
"Why did you try to steal ?"
"I'm not talking to you lady . Just throw me in jail or something I don't care "
"So you want me to throw you in jail ?"
"Yeah go ahead old lady "
"You sure you want that buddy ?"
"Don't talk to me like that ! You can tell your girlfriend to stop staring at me !"
Atsushi looks at the floor .
"Hes not my girlfriend . You know it's rude to assume people genders "
"Whatever I don't care he can be whatever "
Yosano sighs .
She looks at Atsushi who's staring at the boy again.
"You wanna talk to him ? I don't have much else to say "
"Sure "
They switch places .
Atsushi kneels down so he's the same height as the kid .
"What are you doing you look stupid "
He boy looks away .
"Ok thanks . Do you have a parental figured ?"
"Yeah I have a mum why ?"
"Does she know you done this ?"
"No "
"Would she be happy ?"
"No but she wouldn't care "
"That doesn't make this any better . Just because she may not care doesn't mean you shouldn't either . This is a small matter but if you were to get away with it you would feel a rush and want to do it again . Eventually things get out of hand and you would end up in jail or hurting someone . Does that sound like someone you want to do ? Or don't care ?"
The boy is staring at Atsushi .
" She thinks I'm a failure "
"Do you put in the effort ?"
"Of course "
"Then who cares . As long as you know your trying as hard as you can . If she can't see that then it's her problem not yours "
The boy smiles and hugs Atsushi .
"Thanks . I won't do it again "
"No Problem"
The boy leaves .
Yosano and Atsushi leave soon after .
"You have impressed me again Atsushi . Tell me what made you say that ?"
