-ERIK'S POV-

I needed to find out who this fake Phantom was. And I had an excellent plan. It was just matter of time...
A masquerade.

Everyone likes parties, specially masquerades. I'm sure I'll find the cheap Opera Ghost there.
It is just matter of time...

*a few days later*

-LYRICA's POV-
I heard some rumors about a masquerade. A masquerade!! I lived them since I was a little girl.
And this was the best opportunity to convince the managers to give me an extra payment.
Yes, it will be great.

*Le time skip*

I was in my lair, deciding what to wear. And which of my many masks to use.
"Maybe... I've got it!" I whispered to myself as I grabbed a blue and gold feet-length dress, which suited perfectly to my silver and blue mask. But I needed to be cautious, and as I was going to left immediately after I placed the letter in one of the managers pockets, I decided to wear a black cloak that covered almost all my face, and only left my neck and chin visible.
The cloak would remain undetected with all the people and color gowns.

I prepared myself, making sure I wouldn't look suspicious.
I had all the details ready just in time, as I headed to the ball.

ANDRE:
M'sieur Firmin!

FIRMIN:
M'sieur Andre!
Dear Andre, what a splendid party!

ANDRE:
The prologue to a bright new year!

FIRMIN:
Quite a night! I'm impressed!

ANDRE:
Well, one does one's best

ANDRE/FIRMIN:
Here's to us!

ANDRE:
The toast to all the city

FIRMIN:
What a pity that our Phantom can't be here!

CHORUS:
Masquerade! Paper faces on parade
Masquerade! Hide your face, so the world will never find you!
Masquerade! Every face a different shade
Masquerade! Look around, there's another mask behind you!
Flash of mauve, splash of puce
Fool and king, ghoul and goose
Green and black, queen and priest
Trace of rouge, face of beast
Faces, take your turn, take a ride
On the merry-go-round in an inhuman race
Eye of gold, thigh of blue
True is false, who is who?
Curl of lip, swirl of gown
Ace of hearts, face of clown
Faces, drink it in, drink it up,
Till you've drowned in the light, in the sound

But who can name the face?

Masquerade! Grinning yellows, spinning reds
Masquerade! Take your fill, let the spectacle astound you!
Masquerade! Burning glances, turning heads
Masquerade! Stop and stare at the sea of smiles around you!
Masquerade! Seething shadows, breathing lies
Masquerade! You can fool and friend who ever knew you!
Masquerade! Leering satyrs, peering eyes
Masquerade! Run and hide but a face will still pursue you!

COMPANY:
What a night!
What a crowd!
Makes you glad!
Makes you proud!
All the creme de la creme!
Watching us watching them!
And all our fears are in the past!
Three months ...
Of relief!
Of delight!
Of Elysian peace!
And we can breathe at last!

No more notes!
No more ghosts!
Here's a health!
Here's a toast to a prosperous year!
To our friends who are here!
And may its splendour never fade!
Three months!
What a joy!
What a change!
What a blessed release!
And what a masquerade!

The guests sang happily, as they danced with colorful gowns and beautifully detailed masks.

I need to find the managers...
Thought Lyrica, as she headed to the centre of the room, where she could have a better view.
She spotted the managers almost immediately, but she didn't saw a mysterious man with a red cape and a skull mask heading towards her.

Lyrica silently grabbed the letter that she had been hiding in her skirts. She leaned and managed to gently place it in Andre's pocket.
As she started walking backwards, she bumped into someone.
Before she could scream, or even apologize, the man putted his hand on her mouth and leaded her to a room.

Lyrica was panicked. She usually could get out of this situations easily.
Because they didn't caught me by surprise...
She Thought, as the stranger silently locked the door.
"What do you want from me?!" Spat Lyrica confidently, as she crossed her arms into her chest.
"Ah, I would ask the same to you, FAKE OPERA GHOST!!!" Screamed the man in a rage of anger, as he pulled my cape off my body.
He gasped.

-ERIK'S POV-
I couldn't believe it. I had finally caught the fake Opera Ghost. And it was a woman?!
It couldn't be!
I need to find the identity of this woman!
