"And then what happened?" Elsa asked, she's leaning so close to me that she's about to fall off her bed.

Sweet.

But also, get away from me.

"And then she died" I reply quietly.

Elsa gasps, I'm not sure why. I've told her this exact story thousands of times.

The PG version of course, although I do imagine the non-PG bits in my head.

Vividly.

Elsa's beautiful blue eyes glaze over with water.

She's about to cry.

Shit.

"Elle...died?" she asks me, her lip quivering.

I nod slowly trying to desperately ignore the ache in my chest as I picture it again.

"But you're supposed to live happily ever after" she wails, flopping back onto her bed.

Someone needs to read her what originally happened in snow white.

Hearing what actually happened in those Disney tales had me fucked up for a bit.

Frozen is the only half-decent film out there.

Clearly, Phoenix also agrees hence the 4-year-old rolling around on the bed.

I said she should be called Olaf instead.

No one has a sense of humour.

My wife apparently dead and I can still crack a joke.

"Will you tell me another story?" Elsa begs over her tantrum.

"I can't sorry sugar, look at the time I need to leave"

She bursts into a fit of giggles and I can't help but smile a little bit.

"There's no watch on your hand!" she exclaims.

How can she speak so well?

She's sub-human.

"You calling me a liar miss?" I ask all seriously.

She shakes her head and crawls into bed.

I pull the duvet over her and kiss her cheek.

"Is my mommy home?" she asks me quietly.

"No your mommy is an alcoholic, daddy's home though," I say laughing.

I know she doesn't know what I'm saying.

I head to the door and immediately realise I've done something horribly wrong.

"Shit" I mutter flipping the light on.

Elsa blinks at me confused.

"I'm supposed to be helping you learn another language. Quick Elsa say something in Spanish" I say urgently.

Pheonix is going to stab me.

"Buenas noches" she says.

I blink slowly.

Good night?

One of my dogs could say that.

Whatever not my child, not my business.

"Night baby," I say turning the light off and heading downstairs.

Phoenix is just heading up the stairs.

"All good?"

"Yeah," I say walking past him.

I need to be gone when he realises his child is still awake.

I walk outside and spot a black car parked under a street light.

The driver is absolutely beautiful.

I open the door and walk inside immediately kissing her.

"You and Elsa have fun?" she asks smiling.

"Yeah I told her the wedding story," I say laughing slightly.

"Ivan you did not. Your so crazy for pretending I die!!" Elle yells at me.

I roll my eyes "We should be more concerned that she hasn't realised it's a lie, who does she think you are?"

Elle rolls her eyes again trying not to smile.

"I did almost die" she adds, swerving rather aggressively.

I grunt already in a bad mood. "Don't remind me"

She grins, for her, she says it was peaceful.

For me? I felt like the entire world had been ripped away for 10 entire minutes.

For 10 long minutes, I thought she was dead.

"Don't be moody it upsets the baby" she says glancing at her stomach.

"Oh yes I'm sure the blind and deaf thing in your stomach can tell"

She glares at me "Let's not act like 3 weeks ago you weren't crying when I told you"

She's got me there.

And she knows it.

I say nothing.

She grins at me.

I pretend not to care, but I can't wait to be a dad.

To have a mini her running around.

I swear I'll do anything for this family we're building.

"How long until we can't have sex?"

She smirks, "When I feel like it...I'm guessing 6 months"

"Sure"

"Why you wanna go now?" she says quietly.

"Car sex?" I offer.

She nods moving to the back seat.

God I love life.
