The students had already gathered in Professor Snape's classroom, Lysanna had taken one of the empty seats.

The only one still missing was the professor himself.

As the door flew open and the potions master, cloak billowing, walked past the students to his desk, silence fell suddenly in the classroom.

Lysanna also noticed that she had held her breath for a moment during this dramatic performance. She eyed the man with interest, who was looking at his students with a grim expression. She had been thinking about the duel all weekend, but still couldn't make sense of the professor's behaviour.

"Books on page 182!", his voice thundered through the classroom and the majority of the students immediately followed the instruction.

"Mr. Weasley, if you would be so kind as to turn your book to the right page as well!" Snape snapped at the red-haired boy, who immediately leafed through his book frantically.

With a slight flick of his wand, one of the books flew out off the shelf and landed right in front of Lysanna with a loud thump. The book was opened exactly at page 182. Lysanna could almost understand that the students were afraid of their professor. But she wasn't afraid of him.

A faint whispering could be heard from the back rows. And apparently not only Lysanna but also Snape had heard the whispering.

"For the discussion of their undoubtedly extremely interesting leisure activities, you have the lessons with Professor Lockhart later.I expect absolute concentration here, Mr. Malfoy!" Snape hissed, then continued with the explanation of today's potion.

Lysanna chuckled slightly at the obvious dig at Lockhart.

Lysanna had struck up conversation with the other professors during the short breaks between classes. With Snape, things were different. He didn't seem to have the slightest need to talk to her and merely dismissed all questions with a terse answer.

It was only Monday afternoon, and already the constant presence of McGonagall's niece was driving him almost insane. He tried as best he could to ignore those beautiful blue eyes that were staring at him the whole time. But he found it difficult.

Luckily, the last lesson was soon to be over and then he would not only have peace from all the talentless students who had impressively demonstrated their incompetence once again today, but also from her and her beautiful eyes.

For a few hours at least. Tonight, willy-nilly, he would have to take her with him on his nocturnal strolls. Over the weekend he had found, somewhat surprised, that she had not left the castle. Instead, she had been spending time with her aunt. There was really no reason why she would stay here when her man was waiting for her at home. It just didn't make sense. He'd had to admit to himself that he was interested in Lysanna. For quite a long time he had debated whether or not to allow himself this interest, but finally decided that he wanted to find out a tad bit more about her first. Being interested didn't mean that he had to fall in love with her right away. He hadn't been ready for a feeling like love since Lily's death.

"Professor, be at my office at 9pm tonight!" he said as the last of the students left the classroom.

"Are you going to give me detention, Professor?" Lysanna answered calmly, earning a few astonished looks from the students, who, laughing at this remark, quickly tried to leave the classroom.

He couldn't suppress the slight hint of a smirk before he slowly turned to her and walked towards the table where she was still sitting. Her blue eyes glared at him, almost challenging, a triumphant smirk on her lips.
