Tahini is a form of seed butter where the fat released from ground hulled sesame seeds forms the condiment. It is usually used in the cuisines of the Eastern Mediterranean, the South Caucasus, and the Middle Eastern but can easily be used as a dip or as spread on bread and other stuff. It is quick and easy to make.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Sesame Seeds

4 Tablespoon Olive Oil

Pinch of Salt

Procedure:

1. Lightly roast the sesame seeds on a medium flame. They can get easily burned so make sure you remove it from the flame on time.

2. Once it cools down, put it in a grinder with salt and give it a mix blend.

3. Gradually add in olive oil.

4. Blend until it forms a smooth paste.

Note:

1. It definitely tasted like store bought Tahini with the benefit of no added preservatives and saves a lot of money.

2. 4 tablespoons of olive oil gave me the desired consistency. If required you can add more but increase it gradually as the sesame seeds themselves release their own fats in the form of oil.

3. It can be made very well advanced and stored in the refrigerator.
