haven't got the time to adapt the new story so here is a shot🫶🏼

Jennie woke up with a mouth full of cotton balls and some sort of construction crew banging around in her skull. She rolled over with a groan, cursing herself for letting Alba talk her into another over crowded frat party with too much crappy booze. After a moment she gathered the strength to crack open an eye, seeing a surprising view on her bedside table.

A glass of water, two Advil, a note, and a coffee cup.

She reached half blind for the Advil, swallowing them dry - she didn't have the energy to address the items and ward off a pulsing headache.

15 minutes later with the Advil taking effect, she sat herself up against her headboard and reached for the note.

hey, hope your head isn't too bad! made you some coffee - it's my favorite mug so don't steal it please - but had to make it to a meeting. i'll be back around 1:00 if you wanna stick around, no pressure if not

- lisa :)

The script was sharp and quick, yet still held an elegance that Jennie would have analyzed if the letter hadn't suddenly made her realize something extremely concerning.

She wasn't in her dorm.

She took in her full surroundings, registering the other twin bed in the opposite corner, the posters on the wall, the papers scattered across one desk and the beautifully green plants on the windowsill. Jennie had a single room, empty walls save for a small mirror and a calendar, kept her desk tidy, and would never have the time to keep a plant alive if she tried.

Why the fuck wasn't she in her dorm?

Just then, the door to the room cracked open, a blonde head hesitantly poking around the corner. When she saw Jennie was up, she opened the door wider to fully enter the room with a broad smile.

"Hi! You stayed," the blonde seemed surprised by the obvious, and honestly Jennie was too. This meant she had not only slept well past noon - I'll be back around 1:00 the note had said - but she had stayed in bed rather than scramble out as soon as she realized where she was.

Jennie didn't recognize the girl, but she'd take a wild guess that her name was Lisa and they had met at the party last night that she has nothing but foggy snippets of memories for.

She wasn't sure what to say to the stranger whose bed she was probably in, so she offered a shrug. Her brain was moving too fast to form a sentence even if she wanted to. How had she ended up here? Was this where the party had been, or did she go home with the girl? What did they do? Had they-

"We didn't have sex," Lisa offered, right as the thought occurred to her. Jennie wondered if she was a mind reader. Instead of asking, she gave a sharp nod.

"You were too wasted to tell me where you lived last night, and I couldn't find anyone you knew, so I took you back to my dorm- which is where we are now." The girl's hands were waving around as she spoke, and Jennie idly wondered how many people had been collateral damage of the animated talker. "But don't worry, I slept in my roommate's bed cuz she's home for the weekend, and you had my bed which I promise is much cleaner than my roommates is- I just washed the sheets yesterday. And you're still in your clothes from last night, cuz you refused to change which I of course respected, but you did let me take your makeup off sort of so there's that, and-"

Jennie realized the girl wasn't going to stop talking anytime soon, so she interjected a sharp but not unkind "Lisa," that quickly got the blonde to stop rambling. Her hands fell abruptly to her side as her mouth snapped shut, eyes fixed on Jennie as she gave her all of her attention. Which made Jennie realize she should probably say something now.
