D - oh , you didn't know about this ?

Karan shook his head.

D - Dr Monami is pregnant , rather she is 2 weeks pregnant. I guess unhe bhi yeh news nhi pta thi.

Karan was stunned to hear this. He couldn't believe he was going to become a father.

K - baby , baby kaisa hai ?

D - oh yes , hume thoda doubt tha ki kahi unka miscarriage na ho gya ho , kyunki she is in an early stage of pregnancy. So , there are higher risks for miscarriage during the first trimester. But , fortunately, the baby is safe , and so is the mother.

Karan felt a sigh of relief , he didn't want something bad to happen. He was sure , he couldn't face Monami with such heartbreaking news.

His eyes were full of tears.

K - thank you , thank you so much doctor !

He said and hugged him in excitement.
The doctor chuckled and patted his shoulder.

D - Congratulations Mr Shergill ! I hope this joy of bundle brings immense happiness to your life.

K - thank you !

He said while holding his hand , showing his gratefulness.

K - umm , doctor , Monami ko hosh kab aayega ? I mean kuch stress ki baat toh nhi hai na ?

D - I think she'll up in an hour or so , and abhi hume unhe under observation rakhna hoga , kyunki goli lgne ke alwa bhi unke kuch wounds hai. Hume darr hai ki unhe concussion na ho. It's not good for her and the baby. But , you don't worry hopefully , concussion nhi hoga , and she'll be fine.

K - can I meet her ?

D - sure , hum bas unhe icu se general ward me shift kar rhe hai , phir aap unse mil sakte hai. But , please , 1 person at a time.

K - thank you !

The doctor smiled and patted his shoulder before leaving.

K (with excitement) - faizi , faizi , main papa bnane wala ho , papa !

F - ji janaab.

He hugged him and then whispered ,

F - ab toh aapko sudharna hi pdega , vrna aapka bacha kya sochega.

He chuckled and Karan hit him playfully at his back.

F - mazaak kar rhe hai , hum bahut khush hai aapke liye. Aur hum dua karenge ki aap aise hi humesha khush rhe.

Karan nodded.

N (Nurse) - Mr Shergill ?

K - ji

N - Humne Dr Monami ko general ward me shift kar diya hai , toh ab aap unse mil sakte hai.

Karan smiled and nodded.

N - come , this way !

Karan followed her to the general ward.

N - here.

Karan nodded and opened the door.
His heart clenched after looking at her lifeline lying so pale on the bed.

He took small steps and made his way to her bed. He then held her hand softly and caressed it , his eyes never leaving her face.

A drop of tear fell from his eyes on her hand.

K - Rani Sahiba !

He said softly and then sat besides her on the stool.

K - aapko bahut mazaa aata hai na , apne Khadoos Shergill ko pareshan dekh kar. Tabhi toh jo goli mere naam ki likhi thi , voh aapne le li. Ek baar bhi apne mere baare me nhi socha , humare iss hone wale bacche ke baare me nhi socha. Aapko pta hai iss nanhi si jaan ko khatra tha.
