Aurora's POV

The drive back to Kade's and River's went by fast.

As I walked through the door, Kade stops and looks at me. "Go to the kitchen and I'll get you some clothes to wear to sleep in" he tells me.

I nod and make my way over the kitchen where River is already seated at their breakfast bar.

"So, Aurora, why does Kade hate your brother" River asks me.

Straight up front, I like that. I turn my focus onto to River. "Not being nosy at all are you, River. Anyway, Tommy is a dick, but to answer your question I don't actually know why he hates him" I explain.

River stares at me cautiously, until he starts to speak. " Hold on, Tommy as in the quarterback at your school Tommy is your brother?"

I cringe. Oh no, what has Tommy done now. I slowly nod my head at him to indicate for him to carry on.

River's eyes go wide. "Oh shit, no way. Tommy slept with Kade's girlfriend before and let me tell you now he was pissed about it. Even threatened to ruin Tommy's life. What a small world ay" River says.

I sit and absorb the information that I've been told. Truth is that I don't think it is a small world and that somethings aren't what they seem.

The sound of footsteps getting closer towards the kitchen interrupts my thoughts.

"Clothes are in my room, if you want to change. It's the second door on the left" Kade says as he enters the kitchen.

I turn around so fast that I think I gave myself whiplash and pin him with a glare. "On second thoughts, I'd rather stay out all night and take my chances with the creeps" I grit at him.

Kade looks towards River. "What have you said to her?" he questions his brother.

River holds his hands up. "Nothing Kade, just told her the story of why you don't like her brother Tommy" he rushes out.

I watch as realisation spreads across Kade's face. You're so busted.

I turn my back and make my way towards the door "I'm out, pleasure meeting you River" I call out.

I make it out the door when I hear Kade shout "Aurora, I promise it's not like that", but it's too late because I'm already leaving, and I have no plans of returning.

...

I've been walking for five minutes now and it's just my luck that it would decide to pour down with heavy rain. As I'm walking, I hear a car slow down next to me. No guesses on which idiot it is.

"Get in the car Aurora" I hear him call out.

He must think I'm stupid, either that or he is if he thinks I'm getting in that car with him.

"The answer is a big fat no you dummy" I shout back.

I carry on walking, I'm not stopping for him.

"I said in the car Aurora" he orders.

I guess I am stopping because I halt in my tracks. Who does he think he is to tell me what to do.

"Sorry, did I say it wrong. I said no. That means it's not happening" I say, clenching my fists.

"I'm losing my patience, get in the car or I'll drag you in" he grits at me. Ooo, check anger issues out over here.

"Say please" I smile at him.

I watch as his jaw hardens. "Please will you get in the car" I hear him say.

That's cute of him, he does know how to use his manners.

"It's still a no, but A for effort I suppose" I smile and the carry-on walking.

As I walk off, I hear a car door slam shut. There is no way that this boy will touch me. My thoughts were cut off when he did exactly that. I feel his arms wrap around me, lifting me off the ground. I instantly start kicking and trying to elbow him.

"Put me goddamn down now!" I scream.

I feel his grip tighten. "No, you will listen to what I have to say. Now quit kicking, that shit hurts" he mutters.

He throws me into the back of his car. Well damn, didn't need to manhandle me.

Kade gets into the car and locks it. I was so distracted that he manhandled me that I missed my chance to escape. Way to go Aurora.

"Are you going to listen now?" he asks.

"Do pigs fly?" I question.

He looks at me through the rear-view mirror with an eyebrow raised.

"Exactly, so get fucked" I tell him, turning my head to look out the window.

"Has anybody ever told you that you're very aggressive" I hear him mumble.

I glare at him. "Start talking or I'm going to start screaming like a mad woman"

He holds his hands up. "Okay, okay, but I'm going back to mine. I refuse to let wonder around all night on your own" He speaks, as he starts the car.

"It's true that I hate your brother. It's also true that I told him I'd ruin his life. I also did approach you to get back at him for what he did to me" he tells me.

I feel myself start to heat up from anger. "So, you targeted me over a grudge with my idiot brother. Let me get this straight, you tried to be-friend me because your girlfriend at the time couldn't keep her legs closed and decided she wanted a piece of you" I say.

"It wasn't just her fault, it was your brothers too" he mutters.

I stare at him through the mirror. "I'm not denying that. Answer me this though, was it my fault Kade? Did I do anything?" I ask.

"Of course not Aurora, but I was hell set on revenge. What I did was wrong and I'm sorry" he tells me, staring back at me through the mirror.

"I'm stopping in River's room tonight. I'll be gone by the morning, and you can find someone else to be the pawn in your revenge story" I say.

"Aurora, this was all before I realised, you're nothing like him. You have to believe me the moment I spoke to you properly my intentions changed" he rushes out.

I stare at his pleading eyes.

"I would rather be burnt alive then trust a word that comes out of your mouth. I won't sit here any longer and listen to you try and save yourself" I tell him.

With that I get out the car when I realise, we've reached our destination and walking inside the house, leaving him behind.
