My night...

Aurora's POV

2 months later

The last two months have been the best months of my life. Me and the boys are the ultimate best friends, we're inseparable. Kade and me are perfect, he's perfect. I never thought I'd find someone who I'd fall in love with. Someone who would fall in love with me and all my imperfections.

School is still the same. Tommy avoids me at all costs, I think I hurt his ego. The only thing that is strange is that no one has bothered me at all. Not even any snarky comments from anybody. Maybe they've come to realise that I don't care what they say.

Present time

I walk down the hallway and see Kade with his back towards me, but I can see that he has his phone placed to his ear, clearly on the phone to someone. So, I take the time to sneak up on him.

I run up behind him and wrap my arms around him. I watch as he ends the call and faces me with a smile. 

"Who were you on the phone to?" I ask smiling at him.

"You don't need to worry about that" he tells me.

I smile, I'm going to say because my excitement is killing me.

"It's about my party tonight isn't it. Before you say anything, River did tell me because we both know that boy can't hold his own water when it comes to secrets. Please don't be mad at him though, he's just excited too" I tell him.

Kade's face drops. "So much for it being a secret" he mumbles. 

"You know I hate surprises anyway Kade. Plus, I've never really celebrated my birthday before. River giving me the heads up was probably for the best because I would've turned up to the house in joggers and a baggy top" I say, laughing.

Kade throws his head back and laughs. 

"That is very true, Aurora. School is over now anyway, so go and get ready for tonight babe" he smiles at me. 

I stand on my tippy toes and kiss him. I'm definitely in love with this boy.

The party is in full swing. The whole house is decorated in gold and black, it's beautiful. 

Me and River are dancing together, whilst laughing. We've both established that neither of us can dance. 

Suddenly, the music stops. Groans are heard throughout the room. I search the crowd looking for Kade to see what's happening, but he's nowhere to be found. 

"I have an announcement to make" an annoying high pitched voice shouts. I know that voice.

The rooms completely fell silent. Everyone's main focus is on the female standing at the front of the room. 

"Stop it Brianna" I hear Kade rush out. He looks panicked. 

"Let's tell Aurora Kade" Brianna smirks, looking at me. 

Everyone has turned to stare at me, but there's only one person that I can look at and that's Kade. 

"You were a bet Aurora. He planned to make you fall in love with him and then break your heart. He knew nothing could hurt your brother, so he chose to hurt the next best thing, which is you" she laughs.

My throats gone dry and I can't seem to breath. I feel like someone's just took all the air out of me. This has to be some sort of sick joke.

I look at Kade and see the look of regret and that's when I realise that this isn't some sort of sick joke, but I'm the joke. 

I look towards River and his eyes are full of rage. He didn't know and if he did, he's a good actor. I look towards the rest of the boys and they have their heads down. They knew. They were in on it. 

"I n-need to get out of here Riv" I manage to get out.

River picks me up and as he does a sob breaks free. I haven't cried since I was 9 years old and here I am crying over a boy that used me.

The crowd parts to let us through. 

"You're safe with me. I won't let anybody near you Aurora, they'll regret this" River whispers in my ear. 

I'm glad I've got River, he's turned into my best friend. He got one thing right, they will regret what they have done.
