Christmas. Christmas was a time of family and getting stronger bonds with friends. For Tom, he just saw it as a distraction. Which was good for him, he was like the Scrooge of Hogwarts, never lighted by a single light.

Avella thought Tom was just, well there never was any words to describe Tom at Christmas. She saw the common room tree pile up with presents each day, it was nice to see the Slytherins actually put effort into presents. But that's only because they'd get something back. Which defeated everything. Plus majority were going home. Avella decided to stay so she could keep a closer eye on Tom. Today was Christmas Eve, but Avella couldn't help but notice
he so miserable because he's never received a present? Avella took off to Hogsmeade, she know she shan't slip away but she needed to make Tom feel something. Especially at this time. She looked around the busy shops but nothing stuck out to her. Is there really no present out there for Tom?

There had to be. Determined as Avella was she reluctantly went to Diagon Alley. She was in no luck, until she looked down a dingy gloomy alleyway with a sign pointing towards it. The sign read: Knockturn Alley. She shuddered at the thought of Knockturn Alley. But Tom's favourite shops were hosted there, one in particular, was Borgin and Burkes.

She sighed and walked down the dark and wet path. She was eyed down by passers by that looked more like shabby vagabonds then witches and wizards. She heard them conspire which made Avella feel slightly intimidated, but she carried on until she found Borgin and Burkes.

She hated this shop, she looked around for something..decent.

"Lookin' for something my dear" Mr Borgin came behind her, she gasped and jumped

"Christmas present" she replied

"Nonsense! Christmas is never celebrated in Knockturn Alley, my dear. Let alone to buy a present from Knockturn Alley." He flourished his arms

"Please sir. My friend has never had a present and I wanted to get him something from his favourite shop" Avella played with her hands

"Well, you ain't get nothin' ere. But I have things I don't really want anymore. Follow, girl." He rushed over to the counter and got a huge crate of things out

"Scavenge through those and see what ya like." He pushed the crate towards her

She looked through loads of things, she even came across voodoo dolls. Until she found a ring, not just any ring.

"Ahhhh yes, that ring." Mr Burke popped out

"What about this ring?" Avella asked

"Well, it had history of being very dark. Almost too dark we didn't even know if we could put it on our shelves." He laughed

"Who did it belong to?" She asked

"Oh and there is a matching locket, it's been missing for centuries! That ring dear girl belonged to Salazar Slytherin. He had a matching locket, but it is legend. But Slytherin made sure it will fall into the hands of its heir" Mr Burke replied

"I'd take it, how much" she asked

"If it's in that crate, Miss. then it's free, store policy." Both the owners replied

Avella smiled.

"By Merlin what is your name?" Mr Borgin asked

"Lestrange, Avella Lestrange" the girl mischievously grinned and left

She has finally secured the best present. On her way back to Hogwarts she goes.

Some time later Avella wrapped the ring. Tiptoed towards the tree and was about to place the tiny box when the common room lights flooded on.

"I knew it, stealing presents are you now, never thought you'd go that low, estranged Lestrange" The whole of the Tom's gang stood there.

"I was just putting a present by the tree, why would I steal presents for other people, that's just melancholic if you ask me" Avella replied

"Who's it for, Lestrange? Your parents to love you?" Lucretia laughed and giggled

"Who's your present for? Getting Tom to love you? Getting validation from the boys at Hogwarts because that is the only thing you're skilled in?" Avella shot back

"People what is going on here? I'm trying to sleep." Tom groggily replied

Everyone shot a look at Avella.

"Tommy! This leech, here. Yes, Lestrange. She was stealing all the presents under the tree! Can you believe it!" Lucretia pointed to the girl with the wrapped tiny box adresses to Tom in her hand

"Why does that concern me? Black, you really have to mind your own business." Tom said angrily

"But Tommy! She, she's going to ruin Christmas!" Lucretia cried

"That's good. That's how my future wife should be like." Tom shoved the girl off

"Wait Tom, look!" Lucretia pushed Avella out the way and pretended to totally destroy the Christmas tree and all the presents.

All of the peers including Tom and Avella looked at the maniac destroying the common room. Until Horace Slughorn entered, looking bewildered at the sight

"My Merlin what happened here?" He looked on

Lucretia standing embrrassed with tinsel and with wrapping paper all around her. Looking like mutant dogs had attacked her

"Lucretia Black, it is best you come with me" Horace replied sternly

They all watched Lucretia hang her head and walk out.

"That's settled, now I'm going to bed. Leave me alone, now" Tom walked swiftly back to the boys chambers.

The Lestrange girl ran after him and knocked on his door.

He opened it annoyed, but changed when he saw her.

"What now?" He sighed

"Feliz Navidad! Joyeux Noël! Merry Christmas! Open it tomorrow, you won't regret it" she shoved the tiny box into his hands and ran away.

She felt fufilled, and smiled to herself. Now, for a well earned sleep.
