5th birthday

Donte: 5/ Liam: 7/ Jay: 25/ Rebecca: 26
Today was my birthday and I was so excited. I ran into mama and daddy's room and jumped on their bed.
Donte: Wake up. Wake up
Mama woke up but dad was still sleeping so I jumped on him.
Daddy: ah. Really bud?
Donte: sorry daddy
Daddy pulled my leg so I fell on the bed and started tickling me.
Donte: daddy stop im sorry
I kicked my legs out while laughing
Donte: I'm gonna pee myself
I was still laughing and daddy kept tickling me.
Mama: Babe stop tickling him
Daddy: fine
Donte: thanks mama
Mama: happy birthday sweetheart
Daddy: it's your birthday?
Donte: yeah
Daddy: how old are you today bud?
Donte: 5
Daddy: wow that's a big number
Donte: mhm
Liam then came running in.
Liam: happy birthday
Donte: thanks Liam. Mama hungry
Mama: come on then Birthday boy.
Daddy: what do you want kiddo?
Donte: mmm how bout pancakes
Mama: sure
Mama started breakfast while me and Liam sat at the table. After a few minutes mama gave us our plates.
Both: thank you mama
Mama: my pleasure
Daddy: after you've finished we'll open presents.
We finished breakfast and made our way to the living room. I then opened my presents
Donte: wow thank you for my presents
I got a basketball, soccer ball, Legos, jerseys, clothes, trainers and some toys.
Daddy: what you wanna do kiddo?
Donte: me and Liam against you. Mama watch
We were playing in the front yard when I heard kelly arrive.
Donte: daddy kelly here
I ran towards kelly and jumped towards him.
Kelly: hey bud. How's my favourite trouble maker?
Donte: I'm 5 today
Kelly: wow that's a big number
Donte: do you wanna play LEGOs with me and Liam?
Kelly: sure kiddo
Liam ran inside and I grabbed Kelly's hand and pulled him inside
Kelly: lead the way kiddo
Mama and daddy laughed and followed us.
After 1 hour and a half we finally completed the set.
Donte: we did it
I ran downstairs
Donte: mama, daddy come look at what we made
We went upstairs to my room
Dad: wow bud this looks amazing
Kelly: took an hour and a half
Mama: thanks for this kelly
Kelly: No problem
Kelly's radio went off
Kelly: sorry bud I have to go but I'll come back at the end of shift with your gifts
Donte: okay
Me and Liam went back to playing basketball in the doing yard.
Daddy: what you wanna do bud?
Donte: bounce house
Mama: okay let's go
We made our way there and mama paid for 2 hours play and socks.
Donte: bye mama. bye daddy. Liam let's go
We ran to the trampolines.

Jays pov
We were watching the boys have the time of their lives. They were smiling and giggling.
Rebecca: they are so happy
Jay: I know.
Rebecca: How is Liam struggling to catch up?
I looked over to where they were and Liam was telling Donte to slow down. Me and Rebecca just started laughing.
Jay: Donte is way too energetic. It's been an hour and a half of constant bouncing. How is he not tired?
Rebecca: no idea. Liams definitely gonna fall asleep in the car
Jay: mhm. Party tomorrow?
Rebecca: mhm seeing as that's when 51 are off shift.
Jay: okay we need anything?
Rebecca: everything.
Jay: damn okay. BBQ?
Rebecca: mhm Kelly said he'll help you with it
Jay: cool
I zone out for a moment.
Rebecca: Jay
Jay: so everyone's coming?
Rebecca: yeah. Tomorrow morning I'll go pick up Sam and everyone from the airport
Jay: everyone?
Rebecca: Sam, James, Steve, and their kids
Jay: okay
I stood up and walked outside for a bit and walked back.
Rebecca: you okay?
Jay: mhm
I was bouncing my leg and tapping my hands against the chair. Rebecca took my hands and held them.
Rebecca: baby did you take your meds today?
Jay: I forgot sorry
Rebecca: okay the boys have 10 minutes left go and walk around or something and we'll meet you at the car
Jay: mhm
I got up and went outside

Donte Pov
Intercom: times up guys please make your way to the stairs and exit the trampoline area.
Liam: come on let's go
We walked to the stairs where mama stood waiting for us
Mama: how was it guys?
Both: awesome
Donte: thank you mama
Mama: it's okay bud
Liam: where's daddy?
Mama: he is waiting at the car
Liam: oh okay
We went to the car and daddy was waiting for us
Daddy: did you have fun?
Donte: mhm best day ever
Daddy: that's good
We got in the car
Mama: Tay do you wanna go out for lunch or dinner?
Donte: mmm dinner
Mama: okay then let's go home for lunch
We went home had lunch and Liam fell asleep after.
Donte: mama Liams asleep
Mama: okay just let him sleep for a bit
Donte: how is he tired?
Daddy: it's not easy trying to keep up with you bud
Mama: not everyone has as much energy as you
Donte: oh okay
Daddy: bud you wanna watch a film?
Donte: mhm. Mama join?
Mama: sure bud
Donte: can we watch spider-man?
Daddy: sure
Daddy went to put spider-man on. I went and got my blanket from upstairs. I came back down and sat next to daddy. The film then started. 10 minutes in I was uncomfortable so I changed how I sat
Mama: Tay stop moving
Dad then changed how he sat
Mama: really guys
I laid across mama and daddy's legs and stayed like that eventually fall asleep

Jays pov
Donte fell asleep across mine and Rebecca's legs
Rebecca: how has he fallen asleep like that?
Jay: there's no way that's comfortable
As soon as the movie ended Liam zombie walked into the living room
Jay: you okay bud?
Liam: Donte tired me out
Me and Rebecca both laughed.
Jay: you ready for dinner?
Liam: mhm
Rebecca: I'll wake Tay up.
She shook his shoulder
Rebecca: Tay we're gonna go for dinner
He shot up and ran to put his shoes on.
Rebecca: your just like your father
Jay: hey
We went to the car and made our way to a restaurant. Donte and Liam wanted mac n cheese and me and Rebecca got steak and chips. We sang happy birthday and did cake. I paid the bill then we went home.
Jay: come on boys bedtime
Donte: oh but I'm not tired
Jay: still bedtime come on. Go get in your pyjamas and brush your teeth
Donte: daddyyy im not tired. Stay up with you and mama
Jay: if you get ready for bed now you can stay up until I'm back from the store
Donte: can i come?
Jay: lemme ask mama
I went to the kitchen where Rebecca was writing out the shopping list. I went up and  hugged her from behind kissing her cheek.
Jay: Donte wants to come to the store
Rebecca: it's bedtime for him
Jay: if you send him up now he will only come back down. He is nowhere near tired. His energy levels are still high. The store might tire him out
Rebecca: okay fine but tell him just this once.
I went back to Donte
Jay: mama said you can but just this once
Donte: yayyy
Jay: right go get your pyjamas on and brush your teeth mister you have 10 minutes.
He ran upstairs. 15 minutes later he still hadn't come down so I went to see what he was doing
Jay: why are you not in your pyjamas?
Donte: erm monster eated them
Jay: oh really
I went to his drawers and pulled out a pair of pyjamas.
Jay: then what are these?
Donte: I guess the Monster not hungry
I smiled at him. I gave him his pyjamas and told him to get ready
Donte: done
Jay: right brush your teeth
Donte: help me?
Jay: okay
I brushed his teeth and went to put his trainers on.
Jay: go say bye to mama
A few minutes later he came back
Jay: right let's go
We made our way to target to get stuff for the party tomorrow. We arrived at the store, got a cart and began making our way through the shopping list.
Donte: daddy tired
Jay: we only have a few things left then we'll go
Once we finished we paid and went home. Donte had fallen asleep in the car. I carried him inside and placed him in his bed then tucked him in.
Jay: night bud
I went to check on Liam who was fast asleep. I turned his TV off and turned on his night light. I made my way to my room and got ready for bed.
Rebecca: was he okay?
Jay: yeah it tired him out. About half way in he stopped running about. He ended up falling asleep in the car.
Rebecca: that's good
Jay: mhm
Rebecca: night
Jay: night
We fell asleep cuddling
