"Riley, come for breakfast before we're late!" I called, walking down the stairs.

I do admit, I'm in a much better mood today.

My day with Caesar yesterday completely turned everything around.

I'm so grateful for him.

But when he dropped me home Angela did seem upset. I hope everything's okay with that.

I guess I'll find out when I see him today at school.

As I entered the kitchen, I paused. I saw Huey turn to me from the counter as he poured some orange juice in his glass.

"Hey."

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed, running over and hugging him tightly. "You're back!"

"I am." He said as I pulled away, nudging him.

"You didn't tell me!"

"I got home late last night, and I didn't see the need to wake you." Huey shrugged as I crossed my arms. "I was worried about you, y'know..."

"I was gone all of 48 hours, Ebony."

"I don't care, I'm just glad you're home." I said while hugging him again. Eventually, he wrapped his arms back around me, causing me to smile.

"I learned so much about him." Huey then said as I pulled away. "Your dad?"

He nodded as I smiled. "That's great. Okay, tell me everything." I said as we sat down at the kitchen table.

"Turns out my father and Alfred were best friends." Huey said as my jaw dropped. "Oh wow, he must've had loads of information."

"He did. Operation Snow was formed to take down a prejudice government agent." He explained. "We basically proved he was involved in killing my father."

"What?" I asked in shock with a sad expression. "That's terrible, Huey... You have proof?"

"More or less. It's basically speculation at this point, but I will have proof when I find him."

My eyes widened. "Find him? Huey, you're gonna find him?" I asked in slight concern.

"Find who?"

The two of us then turned to see Riley walking into the kitchen, a confused look on his face.

We both looked at each other as I hesitated. "Uh-"

"No one. Ebony was just asking about my field trip." Huey said.

"...For debate team." I added with a smile.

Riley looked at us weirdly. "...Aight den."

I turned back to Huey who gave me a look, indicating he would talk to me more later. I slightly nodded before standing up and smiling.

"Let me make breakfast." I said walking towards the stove as Riley walked into the kitchen.

I hate the secrecy and lying to Riley, but I made a promise to Huey.

Hopefully he doesn't suspect anything.

As I walked down the school hallway, I noticed Jacob standing by his locker, taking out his books.

I smiled, walking over to him. "Hey you."

He briefly glanced at me before turning back to his locker.

"Aye."

"...No kiss?" I asked with a confused smile.

Without making direct eye contact, Jacob placed a quick peck on my cheek before turning back around.
