~ Huey ~

I looked at the ceiling as I laid shirtless in my bed, my hands behind my head.

Although I tried, I was barely able to get any sleep last night.

I kept thinking about the messages and the bullet I found yesterday. And I hate myself for letting it get point where Jazmine's life is in danger.

Plus, who's to say it stops there? If Shadow can reach Jazmine, there's no stopping him from threatening Ebony, Riley, or Granddad.

So I've decided.

Today is my last day in Woodcrest.

The more I think about it, the more upset it makes me. I hate the fact that Shadow's controlling me, and driving me away from the people I care about.

I also find it strange that these threats are happening now that I'm finally making headway in proving Christoper Barnes killed my parents.

But if this is what I have to do to keep everyone safe, I'm going to do it.

I then sat up, taking a deep breath.

I don't want to waste today.

I may not see my family again.

I may not see Jazmine again.

I walked out of my room, seeing Riley heading towards the staircase.

"Riley."

He turned to me, grimacing as soon as he noticed me shirtless.

"Eww... You gay."

"Where are you going?"

He then gestured obviously to his Golden State Warriors jersey. "Whatchu think? I'm kickin' it wit Murph until da game later."

I nodded slowly. "Well... What time do you think you'll be back?"

"Ion know. Late. Why you askin' so many questions?" Riley asked confusedly.

I shook my head. "There's no reason." I said, walking over to him.

I then placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Be safe, alright?"

Riley looked at me weirdly, glancing between me and my hand. "Uh... Yeah, whateva."

I then nodded, removing my hand.

"Goodbye Riley."

Riley continued to look at me strangely before finally walking down the stairs, heading out the door.

I turned to Ebony's room, about to walk over.

"Boy, what you doing?" I then turned back around to see Granddad standing there in his robe.

"Yo' sister is sick, boy. Let her rest."

I guess I'll talk to Ebony later.

"Hey Granddad. Are you doing anything today?" I then asked him.

"It's Saturday, boy! I'm watching my BET!"

"Granddad, you watch BET everyday."

"Don't talk back to me, boy." He warned me, before starting to walk down the stairs.

"Maybe I'll join you for a while." I said, following behind him.

Granddad turned back to me, confused. "Boy, you hate BET."

"I do. But I figure we could spend time together." I said as we reached the living room.

Granddad then turned around to me, crossing his arms.
