austin's pov

this morning lillian stopped by to pick up the rest of her stuff.

i sit awkwardly on our old bed as i watch her back some more of her clothes into a suitcase. "i'm flying out to LA," she tells me "baz gave me a week off."

"that's great," i reply "maybe seeing them will make you feel better."

"no," she replies bluntly "worse. seeing my parents and my baby sister in a coma is going to make me feel worse."

shit.

"i'm sorry. i didn't think about it that way."

she shakes her head "it's fine," she zips up her suitcase "see you on set it in a week."

and just like that, she leaves without another word.

third pov

after her plane lands in LA, lillian's phone rings.

she checks to see who it is and it's the docor. "hello?" she eagerly answers.

"miss. stone?"

"yes, this is she."

"i have good news for you," he starts "your father, mr. chris evans has woken up."

"oh my god. oh my god. shut the fuck up!" she squeezes her eyes shut in embarrassment "sorry, doctor, but thank you. so much."

"whenever you're ready you can come and visit him," he tells her.

"thank you! i'll be there as soon as possible."

lillian enters her dad's hospital room with a small smile. he's sitting up in bed, reading a book that she gifted him this past christmas.

"daddy?"

he looks at her, smile growing on his face. she takes him in, he only has a few scratches a bruises on his face but other than that, he's fine. "hey, honey. c'mere," he holds his arms out to her and she immediately embraces him. chris kisses the top of her head "how are you doing?"

"what?" she laughs "how am i doing? i should be asking you the same thing." she grins at him "im so happy you were awake. i thought i lost all of you."

he smiles warmly at her and places his hand on her cheek "you didn't lose me, sweetheart."

"mom and madison are still... in comas," she says, her voice breaking "i'll be out here for a week so hopefully they wake up while i'm here."

"they will," he assures her "and if not, they will soon."

lillian nods and whispers "i hope so. but uh, you hungry? i can go pick up some food."

"sure."

"okay, i'll go get some chinese. be right back," she kisses him in his cheek before exiting his room.

after eating and spending time with her dad, lillian comes back to her old apartment.

it feels weird to her. last time she was here, she and austin were still just flirting and she was hanging out with her best friends everyday.

now, she doesn't talk to any of them. and she finds it hard to feel the same way she did before when she thinks of them.

after a week of no news, seeing her dad everyday, and her friends coming by everyday trying to talk to her no matter how much lillian ignore them, it's time for her to leave.
