Mattheo Marvolo Riddle POV

I was walking in the common room after the game when I saw Yn and Lorenzo talking in the hall. Lorenzo is trying to help Yn think. I see Tom staring at them. He didn't hear anything from their conversation. He will probably think that Yn loves Lorenzo. He walks away immediately. Lorenzo and Yn walk away from each other. I see Lorenzo walking in the common room so I follow him. When I entered it was just me and Lorenzo. He was smoking the window. Risky. I walked near him but he didn't even turn around.

"Hey, Theo" okay. He freaks me out.

"Hey, Enzo".

"You want to say something" he turns and looks at me. I just stare at him. "C'mon, Theo" he says before he throws his cigarette away and goes and sits down. I sit down too.

"Tom is really aggressive. You know?".

"I felt that when he saw me with Yn at the hall".

"Oh".

"He won't fight me, Theo. He won't kill me".

"You don't know how Tom is".

"Well I know how to fight though".

"You don't know Tom".

"Relax, Theo. He won't do anything. I can promise you".

"As you wish. I just wanted to warn you".

"Thanks though".

I nod at him and he nods back to me. Suddenly someone else enters the common room. Lorenzo and I look over there and see Tom. He was angry. Not weird at all. He is always angry. Anyways. He has his wand in his hand. Oh fuck. He walks near us and I stand up and try to push him back but he pulls me away. Lorenzo stands up and stares at Tom.

"Tom, don't-" I try to talk but he cuts me off.

"You shut up" he points his wand at Lorenzo and Lorenzo did the same.

"Guys" I talk again. Tom points his wand at me.

"Alarte Ascendare" he shoots me high in the air and afterwards I fall down and let out a groan. I grab my wand.

"Apparate" I transport out of Snape's office. I knock on the door quickly.

"Enter" as I entered I saw Yn there too. "What happened, Riddle?" I look at Yn and after at Snape again.

"Lorenzo Berkshire and my brother are fighting in the common room".

Yn sighs. Snape, Yn and I rush to the common room.

Lorenzo Berkshire POV

Mattheo transports out of there. Now it's just me and Tom.

"What the hell, Riddle?".

"You don't get to talk with my girl and ask what the hell".

"She's not your girl".

"Cascading" I fall back and quickly look at my body. It didn't work. Phew. I stand up and point my wand at him again.

"You will regret that. Colloshoo" his shoes stick to the floor. I softly laughed but kept my wand pointed at him.

"You son of a bitch. Everte Statum" he throws me backwards into the table. The table broke. I groan as I stand up. My leg is already bleeding.

"Ferula" I point to my leg and create a bandage around it. I stand up and stare at him. He gives me time. Why?

"Crucio".

"Finite Incantatum" I stopped his spell. I breathe heavily. "Flipendo Duo" his foot unstick from the floor and he falls back. He groans as he stands up.

"Imperio".

"Finite Incantatum" I stopped him again. "Mobiliarbus" I move a chair at Tom and it hits him at his head. I see blood to his eyebrow.

"Stupefy" I stand up quick enough before he casts the next spell.

"Ventus Duo" I shoot a gust of hurricane force wind from my wand. He scoffs.

"That's all you got?".

"Not even close to the end. Fiendfyre" he screams slightly and I stop. We both breathe heavily as he stands back up.

"Ennervate" I fall back. I notice that my sleeve that my mark is on, is ripped.

"Fuck it" I mutter as I stand up and point my wand at him again. His eyes fall to my arm. At the mark.

"Since when do you have that mark?".

"Why do you care? Your stupid father gave it to me after all".

"When did you get the mark?".

"Before 4 years. That's the reason that I left this school".

"I can't understand".

"Do you remember a guy, kind of a short one, with glasses and braces?" he looks confused.

"Yes. What does that have to do with it?".

"Do you remember that you went him at your father and he got the dark mark?" he starts to understand. "That's right. That was me".

"But you ... You look nothing like him".

"Thanks to puberty" he looks lost. "I'm not here for revenge, Riddle. I came here so I can finish at the school that I once loved".

"I'm sorry. I ... "

"I don't want to steal Yn from you" he looks at me. "I don't love her. She is my friend. Okay? I don't want her as a girlfriend. She's just my friend. Nothing more than that".

"I'm sorry, Lorenzo".

"I understand you. Don't worry. If I loved a girl like Yn I would be the same insecure about myself".

"I'm not insecure".

"Don't lie, Tom" the door opens and Snape, Yn and Mattheo enter. Tom and I lower our wands and just stare at each other. "And admit your feelings or you will lose. Forever".

With that I walk outside. I felt someone running behind me. Yn.

"Lorenzo, wait" I stop and look at her. "What happened? Are you okay?".

"He loves you, Yn. He loves you like crazy".

"He doesn't love me. Stop bullshiting me. Are you hurt? Can I do something?".

"The only that you can do is to believe me".

"He doesn't love me, Lorenzo".

"He loves you. He loves you more than anything in the world. He would do everything for you. Everything so you are happy. He is just scared. Actually insecure. Not scared. He is insecure and he's completely right about being insecure. He wants you more than anything but can't admit it" she just stares at me. "I'll be to my dorm if you need anything".

I walk immediately away and go to my dorm. As I entered I saw a note on the top of my bed. I take it. Familiar handwriting. Tom.

Take it as an apology.
I didn't want to hurt you.
I'm just trying to protect her as much as I can.
As much as she allows me to protect her.
I'm sorry, Berkshire.

I softly chuckle. Just then the door of my dorm opens and Mattheo enters. I hide the note under a book and look at him.

"Are you okay?" he asks.

"I'm completely fine, Theo".

"What happened?".

"We just had a conversation" he looks confused.

"Conversation?".

"That's between me and Tom. Nothing important and so you know. Tom and I won't argue for a long time. Don't worry".

With that I walk into the bathroom to take a shower. I am sure that Mattheo is confused for what I said. Doesn't matter. It's the truth.
