-January 2006 -

My actual birthday fell on a school day, but my birthday party took place at Highgrove in the gardens at the weekend. Dad and Camilla was travelling to Clarence house in the afternoon leaving my brothers in charge of the party as well as the security detail. That morning, presents were exchanged and then I said goodbye to the two. I spent the afternoon getting ready and messaging William. I laughed when my brothers came in my room.

"Oh we find a very happy birthday girl. What or who put that smile on your face?" William asked

"None of your business." I retort glancing back down at my phone. It was snatched out of my hands "Harry!" I exclaim the curlers bouncing in my hair as I try to get my phone back but William throws me over his shoulders

"Will!" I grunt in annoyance then see Kate come in "Kate will you please get my phone from my duffs of a brother."

"What's all this about?" she laughed

"Oh It's from your dashing actor is he your boyfriend?" Harry cooed then Kate snatched it from him and i breathed a sigh of relief

"Awh, Roe."

"What does it say?" William asked

"It says mind your own business." i heard the familiar sound of the closing of my phone. Will let me down and I took my phone back from Kate

"Thank you." she gave me a wink and rested her hand on my shoulders "You see this is why she's my favourite. She's not horrible to me."

"We're never horrible." Harry touched his heart "We're your loveable brothers." I roll my eyes and shake my head. as I got to sit back down to do my own make up.

"So is he your boyfriend?" William questioned

"No, he's not. He's a friend and someone I like to talk to, that's all I'm going to say to you nosey people. Kate will you help me?" she nodded coming over

"Bye." The boys sighed and left us alone

"So between us girls, do you like this William?" Kate wondered curiously as she did my eyes

"Would it be answer enough to know I now call him Liam?" she pulled away and I opened my eyes "I asked if I could call him that and he agreed." her face broke out into a broad grin

"He did?" I nod

"We've been texting and calling when I have my phone on the weekends since I gave him my number when we went Christmas shopping." she gasps "Please don't tell my brothers, they'll only blow it out of proportion and tease me endlessly. I've only managed not to scare him off with my title." I glance down

"What is it?"

"I'm scared." I look up "It's the strangest thing, doesn't feel real like it could happen again, let alone to me." I admit to her

"What do you mean?"

"Like the stories of Granny and Grandpa. When they first met, how she told us that she knew she was taken with him. I sound silly." I sigh "It's most likely a school time crush like the others say."

"Hey, it might not be like that. If it happened for your grandparents, who's to say it can't happen again?" she offered "Only time will tell, for now just enjoy speaking to someone who makes you smile."

"Thank you."

"Okay, come on." she helped me finishing getting ready, by six people started arriving and they were directed to the tent outside. I joined them and greeted my friends from school as well as family friends house the same age or a little older. The clapped as I came out and the party got in full swing. I was dancing with my friends when I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up I turn looking around and then I saw him in standing awkwardly he gave a small wave and I broke out into a grin.
