Chapter Fifteen - New Beginnings

By the end of May I was officially released from school with As and Bs in grades. In the three-ish months I had off i decided that during my summer break I would be doing some charity work over seas and help building homes like William had done and Catherine. I came downstairs ready to leave.

"Miss Aurora." James cleared his throat and I stoped about five steps down. "May introduce Anastasia Jones your secretary, hired by your father."

"My secretary? Why would I need one? I'm going over seas doing charity work and then I will be in university?" I question curiously

"Ahem. Your Royal Highness, your father appointed me..." James tapped her arm and shook her head then muttered something in her ear.

"Your father has suggested to us that since reaching the age of 18 you'd be called to do more engagements some will be fitted around your school time, on occasion you might miss a day or two. To add Ms Jones will be Mr Moseley's point of contact to arrange any further...outings, which she will then co-ordinate with us." James explained and I came down.

"Ms Jones do you have any experience working for the family?" I wonder. She looks to James who nods

"No Ma'am. You would be my first appointment."

"Ms Jones comes highly recommended." I hummed and scanned over her "Miss Aurora, your flight leaves in a hour."

"Well come on then, we'll talk in the car. Anastasia, can I call you Anastasia or Ana?" I wondered glancing at her

"Yes Ma'am." I stop and turn to her

"First lesson. Ma'am is reserved for every other female in the family. I don't like it, everyone in my circle in employment calls me Miss Aurora, you have one Your Royal Highness per day and then it's Miss Aurora or Princess. Mainly Miss Aurora." She nodded nervously "And relax, i'm not my grandmother." I got into the car and james shut the door behind me. I had passed my drivers test but I had no licence yet though apparently when I returned I would have a car.

"So Anastasia, you'll be coming with me on my travels?" I question

"Yes and during term time I will be appointed to another member part time." she answered and I nodded in understanding.

"So what do you know?"

"Excuse me?" she inquired

"I'm sure James has tried to fill you in as much as possible. What do you remember?" she cleared her throat

"Aside from the obvious. I know that your dating the actor that plays peter pevensie in the Narnia films. That you've been friends for around 3 years but only offically started dating after your 18th. Your not a fan of royal life but you have a sense of duty not only to your grandmother but the people of this country and the commonwealth. Your studies are a balance of personal life and duty art being the former and international relations. That you could talk about about me in either french, spanish, itallian galeic of scottish or irish and I would never know what you were saying. I also know that even though your judging me right now you like that you have a girl to talk to on these car rides." she summed up and i smiled

"Dad was right, you are a good choice." She seemed more confident. "So what have you got in that diary of yours, can't imagine it's much given I won't be home for a while."

"Her Majesty has requested that this year you would represent her at the Royal Variety performance, That is schedualed the wekk before you leave for Sandringham. Also I have that Mr Moseley's premiere is in June. Not to mention when you start and finish your term.

"Not a lot then?"

"Not right now, no." she answered and we lapsed into a silence

-3rd person-

William was at his family home in Sheepscombe with his family having some down time before the premieres for Prince Caspian. He was up in his room when Ben and Daisy (William's brother and sister) barged into his room.

"What are you two doing?" William asked

"We wanted to talk with you." Ben stated and glanced at his sister then back to his brother

"About your choice in girlfriend." Daisy added and they came to sit with their brother "Are you sure you want to take on a Princess, you haven't had that much luck with girls."

"Really?"

"We're just concerned. What if it ends up turning sour, you'll be the most hated bloke in this country from breaking the Princess' heart. That's the way the papers will spin it either way, no one will want to touch you with a barge pole" Ben added

"First of all I love her. i've loved her for years despite the fact we only started dating this year. Second i know what i'm getting into I spoke to all of you about this after years ago." William sighed

"But back then you were just friends, for legal reasons now you call her girlfriend and she calls you boyfriend." Daisy retorted

"Daisy, the whole world has practically seen this coming. The only reason they haven't ripped into me is because I have been and will continue to be respectful of her. I didn't do anything other then friendly and playful gestures even then I took her lead. Nothing happened till January, even they know that. And yes I know it could take a turn and I might get bad press. I don't care as long as she's in my life." he argued back becoming defensive of his relationship.

"Okay, but you saw the way they treated her brother girlfriend. Kate. They were brutal, as long as you know they can do that to you worse than they already have." Ben huffed out
