"Can we dance one more time?"

Tessa nodded, taking Kaiden by the hand. This time she chose a slower dance, one that didn't need as much flexibility on Kaiden's part. It wasn't something she'd do at a festival, but right here with only Kaiden, it was perfect. They swayed slowly together, Tessa occasionally giving him pointers or correcting his feet. There was no music, but for the two of them, there didn't need to be. The sound of each other's voices was music enough. Both of them moved in sync like two flames dancing in a bonfire.

They were nearing the end of their dance when Kaiden suddenly tripped, yelping in suprise as he tumbled forward. Tessa caught him, chuckling at the poor boy's clumsiness.

"You and gravity really aren't getting along today are you?" Tessa asked playfully. Kaiden stood straight up yet refused to let go, instead curled his arms further around the girl, his cheek rested against the side of her head.

Tessa frowned in concern, thinking he must be upset about something. On Kaiden's end, he was panicking. His heart beat wildly in his chest as he hugged her. His body betrayed him by refusing to leave the warm embrace. A blush appeared on his face, yet he couldn't bring himself to let her go. It felt perfect to have her in his arms.

After six very awkward seconds Kaiden stepped back; his face warm with embarrassment. Tessa's brows furrowed as she looked at her friend.

"Hey, are you ok? Did you just really need a hug or is something wrong?" She asked, wanting to help her friend.

"No no, I'm fine Tess. Sorry, I didn't mean to do that." He said quickly. Tessa squinted at his face in the dim room.

"Kay, your face is red. Are you sure you don't feel sick? Are you still in pain?" She was starting to get worried about him. He was acting so strange. Apon being called out Kaiden's blush increased ten fold. He looked down at the ground sheepishly, fiddling with his hands; his heart doing summersaults in his chest.

"I'm not sick. I feel fine Tessa." Kaiden denied. Which was a half-truth, there was no illness in his body. But in his heart, there was a love sickness for the girl in front of him. He refused to look up at her as an awkward silence filled the room.

Sudden realization dawned on Tessa's face, causing a blush to bloom on her cheeks. Was he acting this way because he was feeling what she feels every time she looks at him? She could barely believe her own thoughts. It couldn't be, it's too good to be true. Yet Tessa ignored her doubts in favor of her now rapidly beating heart's desires. She walked forward, stopping his hands from fidgeting by taking one in her own. She intertwined their fingers and smiled at him, her expression soft and hopeful. Her free hand slowly made its way to his cheek.

Feeling Tessa's touch startled Kaiden into looking up, his eyes widened when he saw how close she was, his heart doing a whole gymnastics routine as he stared into her cyan eyes. Her eyes, so bright and clear, so full of light and hope. And another emotion, love. Love for him. His breath hitched as she leaned in, her hand guided him towards her. Their faces hovered just inches apart. Tessa ran her thumb gently over his cheek, causing his expression to soften as his eyes studied her face. His gaze flickered down to her lips for a fraction of a second. She smirked amd leaned even closer; their faces now less then inch apart. Kaiden couldn't take it anymore.

Timidly, he pressed his lips to hers. Both of their eyes fluttered shut as she kissed back. Their hearts swelled, stomachs explosioning with warmth. This was it. They've both wanted so desperately for this to happen yet neither of them had the courage to admit it before. His free arm looped around her, pulling her to him, wanting her close. All the emotions that couldn't be put into words alone. All the emotions that could only be expressed in fractions through their eyes. All these emotions flowed through their lips and directly into each other's hearts.

The perfect moment ended all too soon as they both pulled away to catch a breath. They pressed their foreheads together, eyes remaining closed as they basked in bliss. Kaiden was in disbelief, his heart still pounding; no longer from panic, but from unrelenting love. Tessa sighed happily. She had wanted so badly to tell him but every time she tried words had failed her, she was thankful this time her actions did not. Her thumb once again stroked his cheek. He lightly squeezed her hand in response, leaning into her touch.

"So, I assume this means you like me back." Tessa stated bluntly. Kaiden chuckled and opened his eyes, stepping to look at her beautiful face. His Tessa.

"I've admired you for a while Tesserya." He admitted. "But I had no idea you felt the same way."

"I've liked you for a long time Kay, I thought I was being obvious." She titled her head. He laughed again.

"Well I guess kissing me is pretty obvious. I don't know about before that."

"Kaiden, my handsome genius, you can be so clueless at times." She teased good-naturedly. Once again his heart jumped. "And technically, you kissed me first." She argued.

"And I'll do it again." He promised.

"Go ahead, I'm not stopping you." She challenged.

He smirked and pulled her closer, placing a tender kiss on her forehead. Tessa smiled at the pressure of his lips. Her Kaiden. They stayed in each other's arms, on purpose this time. Kaiden resting his head on top of Tessa's.

Unfortunately, Kaiden remembered that time was a thing. He looked up at the clock behind them and frowned. "We should go, it's pretty late and I don't want Calmar getting an ideas." They reluctantly backed up to end their embrace. Both immediately missing the other's warmth.

"Knowing Cal, he's already picking out names for his niece or nephew." Tessa stated in an amused tone. She crossed her arms and smiled fondly, "He knew before we did, didn't he?"

"Probably." Kaiden shrugged, recalling Calmer's eagerness to get the two together earlier. There was another awkward pause.

"I guess.....I'm leaving now." Tessa said weakly.

"Yeah." Kaiden replied with a hint of disappointment. "Goodnight, Mo chuid luachmhor." He called to her as she walked out. Causing a huge smile to spread across her face and a blush to appear on her cheeks. Oh, how badly he wanted to run out that door and bring her back. Yet he chose simply to relive the moment in his mind, sighing happily.
She had kissed him.
Tessa kissed him.
This had been a perfect night.
