This is a one shot based off of some really cute art (above) I saw on Instagram. The art does NOT belong to me it is by 2002_galia on Instagram. Their art is beyond beautiful!
Here we go. And obviously this is what really happened because Tech isn't dead 🥲.
The Pabo sun shown through the window, highlighting strands of Tech's auburn hair. Phee smiled and ran a hand through the soft locks. He had started letting to grow out a bit longer, and Phee loved it. For a second she imagined Tech with hair like Hunter's, held back by an orange bandana. The mental image made her laugh aloud. She gazed down at Tech sleeping soundly and her heart warmed. He was more then deserving of a such a peaceful rest. Phee leaned down and kissed his cheek, causing the small smirk on his face to grow into a wide grin. He shifted and his eyes opened, blinking a few times at the light.
"Phee?" He called out sleepily. He rolled unto his back and looked around for her.
"Mornin', Brown Eyes." She answered him. She reached out and smoothed his hair back from his forehead.
"Did you have a satisfactory rest?" He asked politely.
"Yeah, I slept great. How about you?"
"Very well." Tech replied. Phee looked pointedly at the goggles by his head, and the data pad at his side.
"You stayed up researching again, didn't you?" She halfheartedly scolded him. He gave her a guilty look and she sighed, laying down on her side facing him. He turned onto his side to let her stare into his eyes, something he knew she liked to do.
"So, what were you reading last night?"
Tech lit up as he began reciting everything he'd learned the night before.
"I was researching the native rockhopper penguin species of Barton-4. Their ability to survive in the most extreme of climates, with predators such as the ice vulture constantly threatening them, is so incredibly fascinating. Did you know that a male penguin will show his attraction to a female by going out and collecting small rocks and pebbles he believes she will like, then gifting them to her?" Tech rambled. Phee's mouth spread into a smug smirk.
"Like how you bring me rocks, flowers, and seashells from the beach sometimes?" She inquired. Tech blushed.
"Um, yes. It is quite a similar motive." He murmured sheepishly. Phee smiled and rolled over to adjust the blinds on their window so more light would shine through. A moment later she felt Tech poking her shoulder lightly.
"What is it?" She asked over her shoulder.
"Turn back around, please." He requested. Phee turned over and Tech smiled, then leaned in and kissed her.
"You look exquisite this morning." He breathed. It was Phee's turn to be flustered, she avoided eye contact in embarrassment. Tech's brow furrowed.
"I apologize. I was not insinuating that you did not look exquisite yesterday morning, nor any other morning. You're always beautiful to me." His eyes grew worried.
"Tech! I'm not mad." Phee laughed. "And you accuse me of showing 'overly flirtatious behavior'." She mimicked his accent. Tech relaxed.
He brought up his left hand, the one that held his wedding ring. Phee did the same, brandishing her own ring. She brought her hand to his until just their finger tips were touching.
"Happy anniversary, Brown Eyes. I love you." She said.
"Happy anniversary Phee Genoa. I adore you." Tech echoed.
