In case anyone is confused, the Quailius in this story is NOT the same as the one in my clone wars fic. This Quailius is the who I based the starwars oc Quailius off of. But the one here is a completely original character.

     ===========================

"Quailius."

"Quailius."

"Quailius?"

"Quaaaailiiiiiiussss."

"I'm ignoring you on purpose Tamar, what do you want? The woman snapped.

"I know you're doing it on purpose, and it's annoying." Tamar quipped back. He was laying on his stomach on their bed while his wife rage-cleaned their small bedroom.

"You are annoying." Quailius grumbled. Tamar got up and attempted to wrap an arm around her waist but she dodged him. He continuing following her around as she cleaned.

"You're not the one who stayed up all night with Noros because of a stomach ache. So touch me and die." She warned as she picked up a shirt he'd left on the floor, she hissed and glared pointedly at him as she folded it.

"You could have gotten me up to switch out Love." Tamar pointed out the obvious. Quailius' pupils narrowed and even he was intimidated by her glare that clearly said shut up. He smirked and walked right up to her, wrapping her in a hug.

"I'm going to bite you." She genuinely threatened. She started moving towards the drawer containing all of her prized knives, now sporting a lock since they had a toddler in the house. "Or stab you. Definitely stab you." She reached for the drawer. He let go immediately and backed a safe distance.

"Ok ok I'm sorry. Next time Quaili, I'll help you take care of him ok?" His voice was earnest. He tapped his cheek with a fingertip, but Quailius hissed and shook her head. He nodded and thought for a second.

"Hey, why don't you lay down for a while. Or go up and sunbathe. I'll watch Noros for the rest of the day." He offered. Qauilius agreed and Tamar brushed his fingers against the back of her hand once, before walking out to collect the toddler in question.

Noros sat in a small baby cage. He had brown and black sales with small blue stripes over his head. His green eyes were clear and often wide with wonder. He was currently banging a blue block against a green one. Tamar walked and brightened up immediately.

"Show him who's boss little man."  He encouraged. He reached down and scooped up the toddler quickly, raising him into the arm, resulting in a burst of giggles from the little boy.

"You gave your mom a very hard time last night huh? Troublemaker." He poked at the baby's cheek. It babbled and reached up towards his face eagerly.  He leaned in and let Noros's chubby fingers touch the first the red, then the blue markings on his face. Noros gave a big toothless grin and patted the blue markings on his father's face.

"Oh so you like blue better? That's my favorite color you know. Will it be yours?" Tamar speculated. He carefully sat cross-legged on the floor and reached for a few more blocks and toys. For the next 4 hours father and son played together happily.

Tamar fed Noros and changed him, and now they were in the kitchen with Noros seated on the counter. He was occupied with throwing a towel off of the counter and laughing at Tamar as he picked it up and placed it back on the counter, only for his son to throw it again. Tamar was secretly getting a kick out of the game when he finally started to wonder where his Terracela actually was.

"How about we go find your mom big guy." Tamar suggested to the toddler. Noros clapped as if in agreement. Tamar rested the kid on his hip as he started up the stairs. Quailius had not been in their room when he'd walked by earlier so he figured the roof was the best bet.Tamar saw he was right as the pair reached the small sunbathing patio on the roof of the house. Quailius lay on her back, face peaceful, chest rising and falling slowly and evenly.

"Shh." Tamar put a finger to his lips. "I think momma is asleep. Stay quiet for me?" The baby nodded, mimicking his father's serious face by scrunching his forehead in the most adorable way. Tamar crept towards the still woman. He sat by her head and brushed the back of his hand against her shoulder, feeling how hot her scales were.

"She probably fell asleep out here. Look what you did big guy, you wore her out." He fake chided the toddler who sat in his lap. He gently shook Quailius' shoulder.

"Love? You need to go inside you're overheating." He said gently. Quailius groaned and rolled on her side.

"Go away or I'll stab you."

"That's fine but do it inside please." Tamar asked and Quailius sat up and shook the sleep from her head. Noros reached up and made grabbing motions at her.

"No. I'm still mad at you for keeping me up Tensi." She argued with the child who continued to reach toward her. "Stop doing that. I'm not falling for it." Despite her stern reproach, the baby was not deterred. Noros kept reaching for his mother, curling and uncurling his small, chubby fists. Eventually, Quailius sighed and lifted him into her own lap. Her face softened as Noros took one of her hands and played with it, manurvering her fingers around aimlessly and babbling. Tamar beamed with love as he watched his family interact.

"B-b....bab!" Noros called out. He looked at his mother expectedly, waiting for her approval. Both parents froze, looked at each other, and back down at the toddler in awe.

"Dad? Is that what you're trying to say? Dad. D-a-d." Tamar asked the toddler excitedly. His looked up at Quailius and smirked. Of course, they'd made a bet on whose name Noros would say first.

"Bab!" Noros cheered again. Then he tried to make an 's' sound, accidently hissing and spitting everywhere.

"He definitely said dad." Tamar nodded proudly.

"I don't think that's what he's trying to say." Quailius said, her eyes wide.

"Sssssss... sss-ab. Sab. Sab bab ssab!" He chanted happily, clapping his small hands.

"Stab?" Quailius guessed, eyebrows raised. The toddler giggled and clapped again.

"Sab!" He shouted in agreement.

"Stab. Oh my scales, our child's first word is stab." Quailius face-palmed while Tamar burst into laughter.

"He's definitely going to take after you." Tamar said through barely contained laughter. Quailius rolled her eyes but smiled lovingly at the unbothered toddler in her lap. She stood up and held him to her chest, real joy in her eyes. Noros wrapped his arms around her neck and leaned against her with a sudden spout of tiredness. Quailius winced.

"Tensi, remember what we talked about?" She gently pulled at his arm. Noros understood and removed his arm from around the back of her neck, gripping the collar of her shirt instead so he wasn't touching her hood. Quailius leaned in and kissed his forehead.

"Good job. Thank you." She whispered as the small family walked inside.
