Forever: Tessaiden

Tessa and Kaiden were back on their cliffside. The sun was beginning to set and the pair watched it happily. Kaiden's arms wrapped around Tessa's waist as his chin rested on her shoulder, both of them staring into the orange sky.

"Wow, that's so pretty. It was a good idea to stay out here Kay." Tessa remarked, eyes wide and reflecting the orange glow. She ignored the mental grumble from the third wheeling dragon who had brought them there.
Relax Erikaya, you'll have plenty of time to hunt tonight. She thought to the dragon, only to get a very loud HUNGRY from the Impatient reptile.

"Still not as pretty as you." Kaiden whispered, winking at her from the corner of his eye.

"Oh, so someone decided to be charming today?" She accused him. The sky began to change to a brilliant pink and the couple were silent for a moment to enjoy it. Kaiden moved his head and placed his ear against Tessa's neck. She raised a brow at him, since it was a bit of an awkward position. After a few seconds he moved his head back and smiled.

"Your heartbeat is really nice. It's steady, and it sounds healthy. I like it." He told her, turning his head so they could face each other. Tessa was caught at first.

"Um.. thanks?" She chuckled. "Thank you Kaiden, I've never had someone compliment my organ functions before."

"Well your organ functions are very nice." Kaiden shot back with a cheeky look. Tessa covered her mouth to hide her laughter.

"That is so ridiculous, "she laughed. "You're such a dork."

"Hey, don't call me names." Kaiden fake complained. Tessa rolled her eyes and challenged him.
"Ok what about handsome, genius, mo corri. What about those?" Each word was accompanied by a kiss to his cheek. Kaiden blushed and hid his face in her shoulder.

"You forgot one." He mumbled into her shirt.

"Which?" Tessa asked in confusion, she didn't have any other pet names for him.

"Yours." He whispered, brown eyes sparkling. Tessa smiled and intertwined her fingers with the hand around her waist.

"My handsome, stupidly good at flirting Charricorri." She said staring into his eyes. He smirked.

"A little more then that."

"My handsome, genius, stupidly good at flirting Charricorri?" Tessa tried again. Kaiden's face spread into a giddy smile. Yet he was blushing and nervous as well.

"I'd like to be more then that." He said sounding distracted, and abruptly let go of her. He moved to stand in front of her, still grinning widely and looking the perfect mix of pure excitement and anxiety.

"What do you mean Kay?" Tessa asked, confused at his strange behavior. Kaiden carefully stepped back and bent down on one knee.

Tessa's eyes widened and her mouth fell open in shock as he pulled out a small box from his pocket.

"Tesserya Tessoro. I love you more then I thought it is possible to love someone. I love being near you, hearing your voice, seeing your eyes, your smile, watching you dance, and just be you. I love how kind you are and you're so brave and strong and amazing and" He blinked. "..and I'm rambling now." He took a breath as Tessa's eyes filled with joyful tears.

"I love you. And I want to be with you every day for the rest of my life. So Tesserya, I'm asking you, will you marry me?" His brows drew up in a hopeful exspression and he looked into her eyes, longing in his own.

"Yes.." Tessa breathed.

"Yes?" Kaiden perked, standing up quickly. Tessa shook herself out of her awe.

"Yes! Yes Kaiden yes!" She squealed and jumped at him. He caught her in his arms and spun her halfway around. They both laughed in pure joy and hugged each other tightly.

"Thank you. Oh Tess I love you! I love you! I love you!" Kaiden repeated as he bounced excitedly. Tessa echoed his declaration and buried her face in his neck, arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders. She stepped back and stared at him lovingly, eyes shining with tears and her mouth open with an untameable smile. He mirrored her exspression. She reached up and held his face gently. His eyes softened and he leaned into her touch, arms looped losely around her back. Erikaya, who had watched the whole event curiously, now came over and nudged Tessa's side. She laughed and patted the dragon's head with one hand.

"You're so impatient. We'll leave in a few minutes." The dragon made a low sound and nudged her back a bit more forcefully. She fell against Kaiden's chest and glared over her shoulder at the mischievious animal. Then looked back up at Kaiden, who had not stopped staring at her with a warm glow in his eyes. She smiled and lightly pressed her lips to his. Kaiden held her close as he kissed her back. The dragon gave a grunt of approval.

"I am so in love with you." Kaiden breathed once they'd parted.

"I love you too Kaiden. Forever." Tessa agreed.

"Forever." Kaiden echoed and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. The dragon behind them growled.

"You just did that so we'd leave faster didn't you?" Tessa accused both mentally and out loud. Erikyaya made a sound almost like a laugh while confirming it.

"Ok. Let's fly back." Tessa decided and Kaiden nodded. They climbed onto the dragon and Kaiden wrapped his arms tightly around Tessa waist. Erikaya unfurled her wings and took off into the sky. Kaiden closed his eyes.

"I will never get used to this." He grumbled, his arms tightening around her waist. Erikaya looked back at then from the corner of her eye.
Scared?
Yes. Tessa replied.
Lower. The dragon decided and slowly dipped down. Tessa smiled and looked back at her nervous man.

"I know. But you're going to have to because I won't be giving this up, my Terracelo." Tessa shot back, trying out the new, permanent title they'd now have. Kaiden opened his eyes and smiled gently at her.

"Wow. I love that." He said in awe.

"Yeah I liked saying it too." Tessa affirmed him.

"You want to be my Terracela." Kaiden stated, euphoric. She grasped his hand around her waist again and squeezed it lightly.

"Yes, I really, really do."
