I am seeking to define
Something without form
I am trying to touch
Something with no shape
I need what once was abstract
To take on a definite form
So I'm trying to materialize
An immaterial force
I need to see, I need to touch
What I can only feel
So I'm trying to cross the realms
From emotion to the physical
I'm reaching up to touch the sky
To bring it back, if I could fly
Like trying to touch a ray of light
Or bend the air, or even heat
I can't touch it
But I know it's there
I enjoy the warmth
I breathe the air
I feel it there
And that's more than enough
Even so, somehow within me
It does not seem to suffice
So here I am, trying to touch
Something that's within my heart
Wishing earnestly deep within
To feel, to meet, to touch you.
