We arrived on an island with a town to fill up on supplies. It was relatively pirate friendly, so captain let me come inland with them.
Gwen: "This was fun! Feels like it's been forever since I've seen people who weren't pirates or marines."
Brook: "YOHOHOHO! I'll say."
We made it back to where we docked our ship.
Gwen: "Laboon! We're... back..."
Everyone stopped when we noticed the current state of the ship. The tide had gone out, leaving her stuck on the rocks.
Yorki: "Well this was an unexpected turn..."
Gwen: "That's a far tide."
Brook: "Where's Laboon?"
He squeaked and jumped up to get our attention.
Gwen: "He's out past the rocks. Come on, Brook!"
I grabbed his hand and dragged him over.
Brook: "Ahh~! Careful, it's slippery! WAH!"
Gwen: "Haha!"
Yorki: "The rest of you, start loading the supplies. The tide should be back in later this evening."
Crew: "Aye aye!"
Gwen: "Hi Laboon."
His tail swished, happy to see us. Brook sat behind me, and I giggled as he picked me up and sat me in his lap.
Brook: "Come on, don't fall in. You make me worry about you."
Gwen: "Heh, sorry."
Laboon looked to the stuck ship and then back to us with a frown.
Brook: "I'm sorry, little buddy. But we're landlocked today so be a good boy and wait here."
He squeaked in understanding.
Brook: "You are a good boy, aren't you?"
He gave us a little smile.
Yorki: "He's really grown quite attached to you, Brook."
Daisu: "Yeah, Pip too. You're like a little family."
Brook: "Yohohoho, That's because they love music so much."
I smiled up at him as he stroked my head and Laboon chirped in agreement.
Yorki: "Nah, I think it's cause they love the puffball shape of your head."
Brook: "Wha-?!"
Arito: "Yeah, it's the same as Laboon's!"
We all laughed as we noticed.
Gwen: "Hahaha, he probably thinks you're his mama, Brook."
Brook: "Mama? YOHOHOHO! You think so?"
I giggled and hopped out of his lap.
Gwen: "Laboon, there's a river that runs near the town. Come on, I'll show you."
Laboon squeaked in excitement and followed me along the shore.
Brook: "Be back before sundown! And careful on the rocks!!"
Gwen: "Kaay!"
Yorki: "Aww... You are like a father to them~"
Brook: "Yohoho, maybe a little. But look who's talking, captain."
Yorki: "Yeah... I can't argue."
Brook: "In terms of family, we're all they have now. Laboon's pod is still nowhere to be found and Gwen's folks would sell her out to the marines again. Especially now she has a bounty."
Yorki: "Speaking of... I have something important I need to discuss with everyone... about the kids."
Brook: "Yeah?"
