"Our baby will be safe, right?" Annika asked her husband, oddly nervous. She reached her 10th week of pregnancy, and seeing the small bump was exciting but it was also scary. They were at risk of getting caught.
"He or she will be, and you will be too." Shivaay kissed his wife's forehead.

"Did you fall off your vehicle?" Anamika asked the bruised man. He looked horrible.
"No, sister."
She raised her eyebrows, "What happened then?"
"A guy hit me." This brutally? Anamika felt the urge to reprimand this man just as brutally. Sometimes words held more power than physical blows, and she would ensure that the man responsible for this would get his share of pain.
"Where is he?" She asked rather calmly.
"There," The injured guy pointed to the reception.
This guy was dead. Determined, she walked to the reception foyer to see a tall guy standing with his back to her.
"Excuse me." She tapped his shoulder, uncaring that he was on a phone call.
When he turned, Anamika's jaw metaphorically dropped. She had never seen a handsome man—those chocolate-coloured eyes, the suit, and most importantly, those red cheeks.
"Yes, doctor?" He sounded so polite. She could not believe that he beat up that guy.
"Did you beat up that guy you brought in?" Anamika came straight to the point. Handsome or not, the man was a violent ass.
"Yes." He sounded so unapologetic that she wanted to punch him.
"Do you even know how valuable a person's life is? You literally fractured his elbow, gave him a concussion, and..." as she was about to continue, he interrupted her.
"He deserved it."
"Who are you to decide if he deserved it or not?" Anamika crossed her arms.
"He was ragging a group of girls. He forced them to remove their chunnis. Do you know how horrible they must have felt when they came from Mangalore, Hyderabad, and other cities to have a good education only for a group of seniors to harass them?" He then pointed at two women who had their heads hung down.
Anamika's heart tugged at sight. Along with them was another man who seemed just as tired and mentally fatigued.
"You could get in trouble for hitting a college-going boy." She said, noticing that he looked nothing like a college goer.
"I will take care of it. Now if you will excuse me?" He pointed to the telephone hanging.
"Doctor," She heard on her way back to the ward.
Anamika turned and saw the guy she saw sitting next to the women approaching her.
"Yes?"
"It was not him; I beat up that guy. If you are going to call the police, call them on me. Not my brother." He fidgeted nervously.
"He's your brother?" Anamika knew better to take things at face value, but she would still listen. It helped in the future.
"Older brother?" He seemed relieved someone was listening to him and started narrating the story. "She is my friend. I returned from the US for my vacation and met her. She told me what that senior was doing to her, and I could not help it. When I told my brother, he was concerned that a police case would hinder my future at my university."
