make you feel my love

When all the streets get colder
than what they used to be,
when exhaustion seems hard to rid,
and all the pretty places seems
painted blue with misery–
if you would let me,
let me hold your hand
throughout all of this.

When the skies gets darker
and clouds are full of rain;
when all the stars stop shining
and the moon stoop down from glory;
and all the bright places
cloaked with sadness, bittersweet–
if you would let me,
let me shine a light
at the expense of mine.

I know some times are hurting
and so are your avenues,
but I'll have a million ways to fix it right
even though I'm broken deep inside–
all of these are for the chill you bring,
all of mine's knotted since the time we meet.

The world's a stage of blood and blues
and yours a wildfire that burns out my youth;
this feeling unrequited, my emotions are deep seated;
you're a mystery of no prayer
but I'm turning myself into your believer.

I don't know how this one would end
but can't afford to change what's already meant–
but I'll do it anyway,
just to make you feel this love,
just to make you feel my love.
