Ao'nung had taken a bullet for Neteyam.

"Lo'ak! He's shot! We have to get him out of here now!"
Neteyam shouted, trying his best to hold Ao'nung above water.

Lo'ak and spider panicked as they helped Ao'nung onto Neteyam's ilu.

Ao'nung's hearing was flickering in and out, all he could hear was the sounds of panics. But Ao'nung wasn't too focused on that, he was focused on the burning pain he felt through his stomach.

Neteyam held tightly to Ao'nung as the ilu swam to safety.

"It's okay Ao'nung stay with me! We're going to get you help I promise!"
Neteyam cried out, watching the blood pour from his lovers stomach.

They brought him over to a rock, making sure to watch his head as they placed him down.

"God damn it Ao'nung! Why did you do such a thing? Why did you have to take the bullet for me?"
Neteyam yelled, tears falling from his eyes.

Ao'nung was losing blood by the second, he felt nauseous by the amount of blood loss.

"You idiot! You shouldn't have put yourself in the way!"
He continued to cry.

Ao'nungs breathing started to slow down.

Ao'nung wasn't even able to form proper words as Neteyam held him.

The pain was unbearable, sharp pain shot up and down his leg and his spine.

"I-.. I love y-you."
Ao'nung struggled to get those words out, coughing in between each breath.

Neteyam continued to cry out, holding his lover close to him, trying his best to apply pressure to his wound.

"Fuck Ao'nung! I love you too. Please stay with me! Please!"

Ao'nung's eyes became heavy, he couldn't hold them open any longer.

Ao'nung's eyes had shut.

Lo'ak had successfully called for help, Norm and Dr. Max were already on their way there.

Neteyam cried out for his lover, holding him close to his body.

A helicopter came into view, landing nearby.
Neteyam continued to hold Ao'nung as he sobbed.

Neteyam couldn't even understand what was happening, there were inaudible voices.

Some people came to take his Ao'nung away from him.

Neteyam held on tightly, refusing to let go of his lover.

He fought for a bit, trying to get them off. But he was too weak, too damaged to fight back hard enough.

He watched as they took Ao'nung into their helicopter, taking him somewhere.

He continued to cry as Lo'ak tried to comfort him.

"It's going to be okay. I promise."
Lo'ak tried his best to comfort him, holding him close.
