Passenger Seat

I got my driver's license last month
Just like we always laughed about
'Cause even I couldn't really see myself
Drive to your house, through all that traffic
But today,
I drove alone for the very first time,
Through all of our memories.

Somehow you still find a seat
in the insides of my mind
Somehow you still manage
to fill me up with insecurities and lies.
And you know I gave you all I could, all I had
You know how much I loved you
And didn't want anything back.

Deep down I know I deserved better
But I still want to be next to you,
In the passenger seat
Reaching for your leg over there,
On your side of the car.
I still want to sing with you next to me,
I was your passenger prince.
I still want to feel the wind
blowing through our curly hair.
I still want to guide you and be your co-pilot.
But now I am the one driving back home,
wondering what we could've been.
Now the passenger seat is empty,
along with a part of me.
