"S t a y W i t h Y o u r O w n K i n d "
"Tom, I don't know."
"It'll be great!" Your ecstatic boyfriend was ready with his phone, wanting to take a selfie to post onto Twitter. You had been so successful in keeping your relationship a secret, and now that you two had gone three months steady, he wanted to announce it.
You rub your upper arm. You didn't want to disappoint Tom, but you were worried. Clearly you were another race, and it was even hard for your family to accept the fact that you had fallen in love with Tom. Now having the paparazzi in your face plus fan-girls wondering why he didn't fall in love with another Brit?
"Darling?" he asks, taking your hands into his and sensing your doubts. "I know it was hard for your family, but I'm sure most of the fans will adore you. I know most of them want me to be happy, and you make me so very happy."
You smile, letting all your worry melt into his comfort. He kisses your lips before holding up his phone once more.
"Smile, love!"

Later, as you scroll through your Twitter feed, your notifications explode. Tom had mentioned you in the photo, and now everyone was talking about it. You started to read each one, and Tom was right. Most of the fans, even if they weren't happy, were glad that there was a smile on his face.
But it wasn't always rainbows and cupcakes. All of two minutes, a string of hateful tweets started to pour in:
"Ew, her?"
"Maybe it's just a publicity stunt for UNICEF."
"In a country filled with lots of beautiful women, he goes out of his way to choose this downgrade?"
And it just kept coming.
Tom wasn't there to silence your tears, to kiss them away like he had many times before; the studio was keeping him busy and you dared not to bother him with this. Your family, surely, wouldn't have defended you even if they knew; if anything, they would have joined in. Your friends didn't even know, and you had wanted to tell them with Tom with you, everyone all together. You were all alone.
Or so you thought. You had almost given up when you came across more tweets, posts that mentioned the other hateful users.
"Are you blind?? She's BEAUTIFUL!"
"Stop hating her because you ain't her!"
"Love isn't defined by race. It's define by personality."
"He's never smiled wider than he did in this picture. If you're a true fan, you'd be happy for him too!"
"#youarebeautiful(Y/N)"
They never stopped, the encouragement, the hashtags, the love. The more hate you got, the more retaliation you got; for every person turning against you, there were ten people behind you. Before your eyes lay the long-talked about Loki's army, and like Loki, they were kneeling for you.
Thank you, my Hiddlestoners. Thank you.
