And unrealistic idealistic
Expectations?

Who will drag you down
And use your impotence
To prevail?

Where your social status is
Determined by the number of Jordan's you possess
Or the labels on your clothes?
How could people
Not feel broken
Or at least bent
Out of shape,
Living in a society
Where you are categorized
By your level of education,
By the digits of your IQ,
By the grades on your report card?
How could people
Not feel broken
Or at least bent
Out of shape,
Living in a society
Where you're ranked
Attractive or not
Based on the size of your clothes,
The color of your skin,
The hair on your head,
Or the amount of makeup on your face?
How could people
Not feel broken
Or at least bent
Out of shape,
Living in a society
Where you're secluded
Because of your different,
Weird and quirky ways
Or simply because you're not in with the crowd?
How could people
Not feel broken
Or at least bent
Out of shape,
Living in a society
Where you have to constantly
Beg for approval
Because they've crushed your self-esteem?
How could people
Not feel broken
Or at least bent
Out of shape,
Living in a society
Full of conceited people
Too self involved to
Make sacrifices to
Pull others out of the tide?
How could people
Not feel broken
Or at least bent
Out of shape,
Living in a society
With unsympathetic, inconsiderate
Apathetic and selfish people?
How could people

Where the environment
Is condemned to destruction
By its very own inhabitants?
I'll tell you the answer
It's impossible
To not feel broken
Or at least bent
Out of shape
And society is to blame!
