I'm a minority,
A minority inside a minority
To be exact.
Underprivileged
Is what they call it.
I wasn't raised
On the streets,
But I wasn't raised
In a 9 to 5 society either.
Statistically speaking
I should be pregnant by 15
And never make it
To graduation day.
Statistically speaking
I should be out there dealing
To make a living.
Statistically speaking
A clean record
Is not as likely.
Welcome to my life,
Where I am told
Constantly to change
These statistics,
To beat the odds,
Why?
Because we're minorities
And statistically speaking
We'll never amount to anything,
And that is just not true...
Realistically speaking.
