As usual this first part is more of a mess around, getting the information chapter. The next part will be getting into the investigation
"Ok guys we're at Cerro Gordo" Corey says turning on the camera while Elton is driving extremely fast making me hold on to the dashboard for dear lift "guys everyone knows how dangerous this place is. Elton it is snowing you don't have snow tires"
"And and there is a cliff up here" I add
"Where?"
"Elton Elton slow down for now dude" Corey says trying to reason
"Yeah your literally doing 60 on a fucking 7 mile per hour road" but instead he speeds up "Elton seriously slow down"
We take a brake so the boys can go to the toilet, but then Elton tries to get the car moving again, we are stuck
"All right guys update, the car is kind of"
"Kind of? the car is stuck Corey" I comment crossing my arms as my brother gets out some chains
"We're going to put some chains on it"
"He came prepared" Evan laughs while I'm shivering from the cold
"Where'd you get that chain? hot topic"
"Sorry hold on wait wait actually check this out"Elton walks over to Corey and puts the chains around his neck
"Seriously?" I sigh feeling like tonight is going to be a long one, the first bad omen is that we can't even get to Cero Gordo
"Oh this is actually so cool"
"Bro dude no way" Elton laughs "come on Thea lighten up a little"
"Sorry, just don't have a good feeling about tonight"
"What because the car got stuck" Elton frowns
"Yeah. What if it's a bad omen or a sign to say we shouldn't be going"
"Come here" Corey wraps me up in his arms and holds me tight "we're going to be alright. No matter what happens tonight we will be ok. Scared, probably, but we have each other's backs"
"I know. I think it's just tiredness and we've already been doing this now for like 22 weeks"
"I know but let's try to have some fun on?"
"Yeah" I sigh as Corey places a kiss on my forehead
"Now let's show Brandon and Corbin my new look" I nod my head and Corey walks to the RV. He knocks the door and Brandon comes out
"Look at his outfit what he's wearing" Elton laughs as Brandon joins in.
Finally we arrive and Elton officially starts off the video while I jump up and down trying to stay warm
"What's up everyone and welcome back to the TFIL 25 weeks of overnight adventures haunted abandoned places ghost towns thing that we've been doing uh we have a new guy joining us today. This is Matt Rife everyone. If you haven't noticed we're at Cero Gordo. Thea and Corey are back but you were here in the spring right?"
"Yeah it's was so much warmer than this"
"Yeah I've not seen this place in the snow, like it looks completely different. Let me tell you real quick, so you know the first time we came to
Cero Gordo the main thing I remember was how sketchy the road was coming up and then coming today Elton's like, oh no it's not snowing there
it's not snowing at Cerro Gordo, we're halfway up and we start sliding not normal"
"Oops" Elton shrugs "but yeah if anyone doesn't know this place is incredible, shut down 1935, home to around four thousand people. It's a mining town so historic, I'm not really gonna give you much information because Brent's here. He's the guy who actually owns the place, he's is here so i'm just gonna let him educate you guys. You know decent amount about this place" Elton turns to Brandon who's standing with his hands on his hips
"Yeah I got sucked into his youtube channel and watched a bunch of them so like I can pretty much give you a tour of the whole place here"
"So we're gonna be here for at least 24 hours like all the way until sunset tomorrow uh a lot to see a lot to explore a lot of mines that are here that
we're going to be going in and even the building that we're staying in has a history being haunted"
We all towards the little house Brent will be in, the boys chanting Tatum as Brent walks out greeting us
"It's good seeing you guys again" Brent says shaking mine and Corey's hands
"Have you still got your goats?" I ask
"I do"
"Cool. Right see you guys I'm staying with the goats" I start to walk off from the group making them all laugh
"Ok so I got you guys set up in the bunk house okay this building is built in 1900 originally it was for the miners
that would come and go and
stay here there's a bunch of
bunk beds in there no bunk
beds for you guys unfortunately"
"We will probably just sleep all together. That's what we did last time" Corey tells Brent
"The majority of the town's right in front of you pretty easy um you guys are all going to be just fine except for the guy in the jeans"
"I got a different description of what this would be today" Corbin laughs.
Brent gives us a run down of the place, Elton and Matt do a little scene from Brokeback Mountain which ended up getting a little weird. Brent gives up the tour, telling us that thousands have died here. We are taken to the brothel called Lola's place of pleasure who would shoot people if they messed with her. Matt takes off his shirt goes into one of the huts
"Y'all just in townfor the weekend what's going on? I see you got your little snowboards"
"Elton two for 15. that's amazing" Brandon motions between him and Elton
"That's what they fucking do at Chili's" Corey comments
"Well it is a little chilly" Elton laughs
"Oh it is" Corbin joins in now
"It's not that chilly okay"
"Wait why are your pants on?" Corey asks so Matt takes his pants off "who do you want. Pick" all the boys point to themselves
"Seeing as though i can't grow a beard... it's gotta be Elton and Corbin"
"I think my lover would not appreciate that I
don't know if you saw, I had a man earlier"
"It just so happens this is a buy two get one free situation"
"What am I witnessing?" I ask no one in particular.
After many little skits and a lot of laughs we finally get to see the goats
"This is Tofu" Brent picks up the brown and white goat "she's the celebrity of the group" he passes her to Elton as another goat appears
"I want one I stroke the black and white goat called Elon
"I'm not sure your landlord would let you Thea. Your not even allowed a dog"
"And that my dear friend is why I'm moving when we get back" I pat Corey on the back
"Ooo you've been down graded to friend"
"Don't come between Thea and her animals" Elton laughs
"Why don't you just get a house and then you can have an many pets as you want"
"Because I can't afford a house"
"That's why you need to start a channel and stop piggy backing off me" Elton tells me
"I've told her" Corey raises his hands "but she must love her job in Mac to much"
"Yeah so much I handed my notice in before coming on this trip"
"See told you. Picky backing off her big bother"
"Shut up" I nudge Elton holding back a smile. I do need to think about what I'm going to do when this trip is over.
