Foolish reaches for the backpack resting on the passenger seat. It's nestled between two smaller bags. One, a plastic grocery bag, the other, a tote bag stretching to its limits due to the things stuffed inside.
He feels Lindsey's gaze on his face while reaching for the zipper; hears the hurried drumming of her converse on the floor. She's excited, but for what exactly?
"Holy shit. I fucking love you. Can I eat this now?"
Lindsey laughs giddily. "I have a blanket in the back for a picnic but you can if you want to."
