Kind of a twist on the scene in Pitch Perfect when Beca meets Kimmy Jin, but with a much different ending! Enjoy!

"I got it. Thanks." Beca said as an RA tried to help her grab her bags.

She was going into her first day of college with the mindset of being moody and distant. Unlike some of her peers, she was not excited to start this "new chapter." She trudged down the hall, struggling to carry all of her things. Despite the apparent difficulty she was having, she would not ask for help.

"B242." The brunette mumbled after reading the keycard she had received.

She looked up at the door in front of her to see it matched the key. Beca gave a single, sturdy knock before pushing the door open.

"Hi!" A chipper voice exclaimed before Beca's eyes could even focus on the room.

"I'm Chloe." The girl continued as she stood up from the bed.

Beca was immediately entranced by her bright red hair and wide blue eyes. Her smile was warm, and even the way she walked towards Beca felt bubbly. Beca couldn't help but notice the redhead had already set up her entire side of the room.

"Hey." Beca said dryly.

"Beca, right?" Chloe asked.

Beca simply nodded her head. She tossed her various duffel bags on the bed and began to unpack them. Chloe watched silently as she pulled out an endless amount of black clothing and carelessly threw it into a drawer.

"I can help you organize!" Chloe offered.

"It's fine." Beca said.

She wasn't really in the mood to talk with such a happy person. It overwhelmed her knowing she was stuck with this girl for the entire year.

"I don't mind!" Chloe said, not taking the hint.

She began to fold the mound of clothing Beca had thrown in her drawer.

"Not a big fan of color, huh?" Chloe teased.

She was right though, Beca's wardrobe consisted of black, gray, and the occasional navy blue.

Beca shrugged her shoulders, unsure of how to respond to that.

"So are you like... shy?" Chloe asked.

Beca looked up, clearly a little confused by the comment.

"I mean, it's fine if you are. Just wondering." Chloe rambled.

Beca stifled a little laugh.

"She smiles!" Chloe joked.

"I just don't really want to be here. I'm not like... a total bitch if that's what you're thinking." Beca said.

"I didn't think that." Chloe replied with a smile.

"How is she so nice?" Beca thought.

As they continued to unpack Beca's things, the brunette couldn't stop stealing glances at Chloe. As much as her constant-happiness annoyed Beca, she couldn't deny the redhead's beauty.

"Who's this?" Chloe asked while pointing to a photo of Beca and a blonde girl that was in her duffel.

"My gir– my friend. From home." Beca responded.

"Your girlfriend." Chloe said as more of a statement than a question.

"Ex." Beca said before taking the picture and shoving it in her nightstand drawer.

"So you're into girls?" Chloe asked.

Beca smirked at her overt question. Maybe she would get along with this girl.

Chloe gestured for her to answer the question.

"Yeah." Beca said with a kind of laugh/scoff. Chloe couldn't tell which it was.

"Cool." Chloe said.

They spent the rest of the afternoon settling in and getting to know each other somewhat. Beca stayed reserved, but Chloe had spilled her entire life story sparing little detail.

Later that night...

Beca had left around 9pm to go explore campus. She wanted to see what it was like, but she figured she'd run into fewer people if she went at night.

While she was gone, Chloe invited her friend, Aubrey, to their dorm. Aubrey and Chloe had grown up together, and now they were both attending Barden together too. Chloe spent the night telling Aubrey all about her first day and meeting Beca.

While approaching her door, Beca could hear Chloe talking inside. She didn't know Aubrey was over, so she was confused more than anything. She stopped to listen from the hallway.

"And she told me she likes girls." Chloe said excitedly.

"What does she look like?" Aubrey asked.

"She's the one on the left." Chloe said while pointing to a photo Beca had hung up.

"She's hot, Chlo!" Aubrey exclaimed.

"I know, Bree. Why did Barden torture me with this!" Chloe whined.

"She thinks I'm hot?" Beca thought.

She didn't really know how to feel about hearing this talk. Sure, she thought Chloe was a nice girl that was very, very pretty... But since when did Chloe think that she was cute too?

"Maybe you guys can be a little more than just roommates." Aubrey said suggestively.

"Aubrey, ew! First of all, don't use that voice. Second of all, I just met the girl!" Chloe squealed.

Beca couldn't help but smile hearing Chloe. Throughout the day she had surprisingly started to enjoy Chloe's squeaky and giggly voice.

Beca eventually decided her eavesdropping was a little creepy, so she knocked on the door. The least she could do was let Chloe pretend she didn't hear any of that.

"Come in!" Chloe yelled.

Beca unlocked the door to see Chloe and Aubrey sitting on Chloe's bed.

"You must be Aubrey." Beca said in the most welcoming voice she could manage.

"And you're Beca! As much as I'd love to get to know you, tonight's not the best timing. I have to, uh, I just have to go!" Aubrey rambled before leaving.

The blonde girl shot Chloe a little smirk on her way out.

"Was this her way of trying to set us up? Leaving us alone in our own room that we'll be in together for the rest of the year? Oh, Aubrey." Chloe thought.

"So, how was campus?" Chloe asked.

"Boring. I didn't get to see the pond because security had the path blocked for the night. We could go walk it together sometime, though. I mean, if you want to see it." Beca offered.

"I would love to." Chloe said with her beaming smile.

Beca decided to keep what she had heard a secret. She didn't want Chloe to feel awkward about it, so she just pushed it aside. For now, at least...
