He looked at me. "Shoot. " He said.

I rolled my eyes, ignoring his comment. "Can I use you as a reference on my resume? " I asked while smiling.

"That's a bold way to announce that you're quitting. "

I shook my head. "It's not like that. I'm applying to take part in a fashion design competition. " I explained.

"Hmm... I never cared much for fashion myself. But for some reason, it just seems right to you. Well I'll have nothing but good things to say about you. " He said shrugging. "Just don't expect me to answer any questions about what's hot this season. " He said folding his arms.

I let out a soft giggle. "Thanks. I promise you won't have to talk about blouses or stilettos. Just give them your honest opinion of me. "

"For once, there is in fact something new. I'm applying for an amateur fashion design competition. " I announced as his eyes went wide and smiled.

"It's been a dream of mine. " I reply.

"So can I order my next suit from you? "

"It's gonna take some time. Hopefully not too long... "

"Well, if you're still serious about it when the competition is over, I can put in a good word with designer I know. He makes cutting edge threads. "

"Thanks but no thanks. I want my work to speak for itself. I'm not taking any handouts. "
