Chapter 12 (Secrets and Sacrifices)

Sia: Honey!
Olivia: Is Adam alive?
Sia: Shh!
Sia pulled her into the room and closed the door.
Noah: I told you not to raise suspicions, Adam! It was such a silly decision!
Noah was speaking while looking at Olivia nervously.
Adam: Noah, I was just so worried about Emma when I saw the news! My daughter hasn't faced anything like that before, so I had to send Ateş. But don't worry, I'll send him to come back today. Emma won't suspect anything!
Noah: Sia can't keep this up anymore. We are scared that Emma will hate us when she finds out the truth. She was planning to tell her the truth today!
Adam: Don't, Noah! You know that the men who tried to kill me won't leave me alone if they find out I'm still alive. They want Emma too, and that's exactly why I did all of this - to be with you and Andrew so we can protect her well. Please don't ruin everything I've done because of these emotions!

Noah: I hope this ends soon, Adam!
Adam: Thank you, Noah! Thank you for all you're doing despite what I did to you.
Noah: You know it's just for Emma and Rose, Adam! They have no guilt.
Adam: There's something else. I need this John! Let Andrew leave him and not get himself in trouble. I'll handle it.
Noah: Okay, Adam! See you!
Noah hung up the call and turned to Olivia, who was shocked by everything she heard.
Olivia: How could you hide something like that? Despite knowing that her father is alive, why are you forcing her to live as an orphan?
Sia: Honey, we are forced to do this! Her life is in danger, and we must protect her.
Olivia: What would Emma do if she knew that her father is alive? You can tell her not to talk or clarify anything, but at least let her know that she's not alone like this!

Noah: She's not alone, Olivia! We are here for her. Knowing the truth will only put her in danger.
Sia held Olivia and started stroking her hair and face.
Sia: Olivia, honey! Please, we're forced to do this. I was planning to tell her everything tonight, but I'm so scared that she might hate me or your father, and then lose her after I finally found her.
Olivia stayed silent for a moment and wiped her tears away with the back of her hand.
Olivia: Does Andrew know?
Noah: No, it's just us and now you. Be mature and keep this secret, Olivia. Okay, honey?
Olivia nodded, and Noah pulled her in for a hug. Sia kept stroking her hair from behind. They went down to join the others, and Olivia's gaze at Emma was full of mercy and pity. Madlen noticed it.
Sia: Have you decided on a date for the wedding, Madlen?

Madlen: We went to make an appointment today. We'll do the tests tomorrow, and if everything's fine, it will be next week.
Andrew: Finally! You guys really took a lot of time with this.
Peter: Because of your cousin, Andrew! She almost changed everything in the house!
Madlen: Oh, isn't this for us, Peter? To have a good and beautiful house?
Peter: Okay, darling, but it was a lot!
Sia: Okay, kids, enough! Let's stop arguing about silly things.
Everyone laughed when the doorbell rang, but they fell silent as the maid opened the door and revealed that it was Ateş. The maid allowed him to enter, and Emma stood up as soon as she saw him.
Emma: Ateş, how are you?

Emma felt embarrassed about what had happened the day before.
Ateş: I'm fine! Actually, I came to say goodbye.
Olivia looked at her parents and then at Ateş.
Emma: But, Ateş, you just arrived two days ago! You said you were staying for a week!
Ateş: Yes, that was the plan, but my mom called me because my dad had a health problem, so I have to go back to Turkey.
Julia: When is your plane then?
Ateş: It's in two hours, so I have to leave now.
Everyone: Okay, take care!
Emma: I'll walk you to the door.
Emma walked with him to the door and they stood there for a while.
Emma: I wish you could stay here longer.
Ateş: It's okay, Emma! I'll come again anyway.

Emma: You're right! By the way, Ateş, I want to apologize for what I did yesterday at the nightclub. I was drunk and not in my right mind, so...
Ateş: Don't worry, Emma! I understand. By the way, your cousin, his name is Andrew, right?
Emma: Yes!
Ateş: He loves you! I noticed his gazes on us all the time.
Emma remained silent and smiled.
Ateş: With that smile, I think you two are already together. I wish you happiness, my dear friend!
Emma: Thank you, Ateş!
They hugged each other and said goodbye, and Ateş left. Emma closed the door and went back inside. She noticed Andrew's gaze on her and guessed that he had been watching her and Ateş.
