I turned the water off and come out of the bath putting a towel over my body.

I stepped in front of the mirror looking at my reflection.

My eyes travelled down to my left arm and the faded cut wounds that were on them, and the horrible memories that came with them.

"Get the fuck out of my house you good-for-nothing slut" the lady spat throwing my bags at me

"Please hear me out it wasn't my fault" I cried

"Do me a favour and never I mean never show your face here again, you disgrace of a daughter" she hissed shutting the door behind her

I shook my head getting rid of the thoughts of the woman I used to call mum and the memories of being kicked out of my family home.

Family, I have never had a family. I am an only child and my dad left my mum when I was 3 months old because he never wanted a daughter so he left for another woman who gave him a son.

While my mum kicked me out at 13 after I tried to explain how her boyfriend was touching me in ways I didn't feel comfortable in and since then I have been moving from house to house looking for a job while still managing my studies.

I have always been alone and have grown to learn the fact no one will save or care about you so instead of crying around I keep my head high and hope the future will be better than the past.

And if anything I learned family isn't your blood relationships family are people who care and love for you till the end of the world and I only have Melanie and arny I won't hesitate to give them my heart if they needed it.

I looked back in the mirror and I didn't see a helpless 13-year-old girl with anywhere to go I saw a woman trying to get through life and hoping and praying for a happy ending.

I snapped back to reality, getting out of the bathroom and seeing Melanie on her phone.

"You are finally out" she stood up, "Oh and lewis wants us to work tonight" she entered the bathroom.

"But it's a Sunday?" I asked confused entering the kitchen.

"Yea he needs us as waitresses and he already sent the payment in advance" I heard her say from the bathroom, and I hummed in response filling my food with some food I found in the fridge.

I went to my room to get dressed.
