Meeting at Jeon Inc.: A Gift Revealed
As Taehyung made his way to Jeon Inc., he began to second-guess his decision. He wasn't sure how he would explain his visit once he arrived. He couldn't simply say he came to deliver a gift for Ggukie. He started brainstorming possible excuses he could use when he got there.
As the car stopped in front of Jeon Inc., Taehyung forgot about the excuse he had been planning. Nervousness took over; his heart began to race, and his palms grew sweaty. The last time he had been here was in his past life, the day he died. All the memories from that previous life started flashing before his eyes.
His driver's voice brought him back to reality. Taehyung thanked him and left the car. The guards stationed at the entrance were visibly shocked to see him.
In this life, this was only the second time he had visited Jeon Inc. The first time he had been here, he had come to reject Jeongguk and express his feelings. The scene he caused was chaotic, and he was certain that, if Jeongguk had not intervened, he would have been forcibly removed from the premises.
This time, however, he greeted the guards with a friendly nod and a smile before entering the building.
"Hey. Good evening. I'm here to see Ggukie—I mean, Jeongguk. Could you please tell me where he is?" Taehyung addressed the receptionist.
The receptionist was clearly shocked to see him, her wide eyes betraying her surprise and confusion. She quickly composed herself after Taehyung cleared his throat to get her attention, as everyone in the lobby began to notice him. Taehyung felt a sudden urge to turn around and flee; he was beginning to think this was a bad idea.
"Sir is currently in a meeting, Mr. Kim. It will take about half an hour for it to end. You can wait here in the lobby or at Mr. Jeon's office," she replied after checking with Mrs. Ahn, Jeongguk's PA.
"I can go to his office." Taehyung asked, surprised. The office was typically a restricted area of the building, accessible only to a select few. Even in his past life, he had never dared to enter, fearing he might inadvertently disrupt something or stumble upon something Jeongguk wanted to keep hidden.
Even when Jeongguk wasn't there, Taehyung respected his privacy. Only Min Yoongi, who was responsible for tidying the office, ever entered that room.
"Yes, sir, your name is on the list of people who can enter," she replied.
"Oh! And who else is on that list? If you don't mind telling me," Taehyung asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"The Jeon family, Mr. Min, the Kim family, and you, sir," the receptionist answered.
For some reason, Taehyung felt a surge of happiness that his name was listed separately from his family's. He was ecstatic at this small but meaningful recognition.
Taehyung was so thrilled that he skipped happily toward the elevator, his steps light and bouncy as he swung the bag he was carrying.
When he finally entered the office, he was taken aback by the sight. The room was decorated with black walls and black-colored furniture, and a huge window offered a stunning view of the city lights. The space was beautiful and unmistakably reflected Jeongguk's aesthetic.
He sat down on the couch, which was in the far corner of the cabin, and started to examine the cabin with his huge eyes, like a small child seeing something for the first time.
He was just about to touch the diffuser placed on the table when the door opened slightly. Instinctively, he pulled his hand back and quickly placed both of his hands on his lap, bowing his head and staring at his shoes like an innocent child caught in the act.
