"Jay!" Blythe called. Startled, I almost dropped my books. I placed the books inside my locker then closed it. I faced Blythe who was watching me warily.

"What?" I asked.

"I called you for five times but you won't answer. Is something bothering you?" Blythe asked, concerned.

Earlier today, Adam texted me he wouldn't be able to give me a ride to school because he was sick. Oddly, he didn't tell me what got him. It must be bad if it got him quiet. Adam was never quite. It bugged me not knowing exactly what was happening with him and doing nothing to help him. I spun my phone between my fingers.

"I'm wondering how Adam's doing." I voiced my concern.

"Why don't we visit him later? He always visits me when I have my... episodes." Blythe suggested, her voice wavering at the mention of her previous sickness.

"I'm going to call him now. Know if we can bring him something he needs." I said. I pulled out my phone and speed dialed Adam. Five rings passed and he didn't picked up. Adam always picked his phone whenever I call and he immediately replied to my texts. May be he's too sick to answer his phone. "He didn't picked up."

"Try calling him again, you know he always answers you." Kurt said pointedly, smirking.

I didn't know what to think about him knowing such info and I chose to deliberately ignore his emphasis. I nodded and I tried to call him again. I sighed in relief when he finally picked up on the second ring.

"Hi, Jay." Adam sounded weak and hesitant.

"Hey, how you doing?" I greeted.

I could hear Adam took a deep breath across the line. "I'm fine... J-just fine."

"Listen, the pack wants to visit you-"

"No don't!" Adam shouted. I cringed at his voice. "I mean you don't have to. It was just a stupid stomach ache. I'm sure it'll be gone bytomorrow. You don't have to come here."

I scowled at his voice. He sounded defensive. May be he was embarrassed or something. I bet his big appetite that was almost gluttonous led to his current ailment.

"Still, we want to make sure you're okay."

"No, I'm fine. Really. I'd be at school by tomorrow. See you then?"

"Yup, see you tom."

Adam hanged up. Another unusual occurrence. I was always the one who hung up between the two of us. May be it was just some bug he ate. Nothing to fuss about.

"He said he'll be fine and we don't need to go there."

"The attention whore doesn't want attention?" Kurt asked.

"May be it's just a twenty four hour stomach bug." Blythe reassured.
