For a moment, Shen Qiqi felt dizzy. She had already opened the gate and walked in confidently, her black leather boots making a light rustling sound on the path.

She approached Liu Shuang like a warm fireplace and leaned in to see the bamboo basket in her hands, asking, "Are you gathering herbs? Do you need any help?"

Liu Shuang slowed down her movements, turned her gaze away, and her long lashes trembled slightly as she whispered, "...Why are you here?"

"I happened to be running by and saw you were here, so I wanted to come see you," Shen Qiqi grinned, her almond-shaped eyes shining like a lively wildcat. "I studied the technique you gave me seriously last night. It says that cultivating immortality also requires regular exercise. So today, I started making arrangements for it!"

With that, she naturally reached out and took the bamboo basket from Liu Shuang's hands, her warm fingertips gently gliding over the back of her hand, causing ripples of warmth to spread like stones thrown into a lake.

Liu Shuang seemed to have been paused in time, staring blankly as Shen Qiqi took the basket away.

"Take a break, let me help you," Shen Qiqi smiled, tugging at her sleeve. "Senior sister?"

Liu Shuang lowered her eyes, suppressing the strange emotions in her heart, and reluctantly said, "...Alright, you don't have to gather herbs. You can weed the field instead."

Shen Qiqi readily agreed, laughing as she went to work.

Liu Shuang returned to her rocking chair under the eaves and watched as Shen Qiqi wielded the hoe, battling with some weeds. She couldn't help but shake her head and chuckle. The gentle breeze rustled the willow branches, creating a strangely harmonious scene. She never thought that one day, she could peacefully coexist with Shen Qiqi like this.

Under the scorching sun, Shen Qiqi pulled weeds and tilled the soil, sweating profusely as she worked tirelessly for half an hour. She rolled up her sleeves, wiped her forehead, and thought to herself, "The female lead in those farming novels who effortlessly plant crops are all fictional!"

Liu Shuang watched her, clenching the white handkerchief in her hand. After a moment of silence, she slowly walked over to Shen Qiqi and handed it to her, saying, "Wipe your sweat."

Shen Qiqi, who had just endured a long journey and then did farm work, was now feeling tired and sluggish. She raised her face towards Liu Shuang and lazily said, "I'm so tired. Can you help me wipe it?"

Her delicate and pretty eyebrows were dripping with sweat, her rosy lips slightly curled upwards, and a few droplets of sweat slid down the slender lines of her neck and disappeared into her deep collar.

Between the delicate and pretty brows and eyes, there were beads of sweat, and the corners of the water-red lips slightly curled up. Several drops of sweat slid down the slender neck and disappeared into the deep neckline.

Liu Shuang paused for a moment and suddenly covered her face with a sweat towel. She hastily wiped it a few times, making Shen Qiqi stagger and almost fall, leaning on a shovel to steady herself.

"Senior sister!" She swallowed  and stared with round eyes. "Are you washing my face or what? How rude!"

Liu Shuang handed the sweat towel to her and quickly turned around, walking with the same steps and pace.

Shen Qiqi took off the sweat towel on her face, but Liu Shuang had already disappeared. She wiped her face casually and followed her into the house.

Liu Shuang had her back to her, holding a teacup and drinking slowly, cup by cup.
