I stand before Libby's apartment complex she resides in. Trying to muster up the courage to appear before her and tell her my saddening news.

I was initially going to speak to her two days ago but I figured I better get some sleep and work some things out before I decide to leave for a good while.

Now I'm here and I'm trying to think of the positive.

She won't be in much danger if I'm not around.

Or Loki.

I take a deep breath and When I appear before her she smiles widely and rushed to hug me. Pulling at my heart.

I don't want to say goodbye.

"I saw you on the tv. With Mr. Stark. You looked incredible," she says with a smile that falters a bit as soon as she gets a good look at me.

She brings her hand to my cheek. Touching a scar.

"I'm fine," I say grabbing her hands.

"Did you know those other superheroes? Thor and Captain America-"

"Yes," I respond quickly smiling with my eyes closed for a moment.

"Thor had lighting coming from his hammer. Like magic. Did you know him?"

Her instant jumps to conclusions make me smile.

"Yes," I say laughing to mask the emotion in my voice. "He is from my home," I tell her with a big smile.

"Really?!"

I nod.

"What about that bad guy? Loki? I heard that was his name. He had magic too," she says the last bit almost in a whisper.

I nod again not being able to hold up the facade much longer.

"What's wrong?" She asks.

I shake my head and look up at her. Refusing to shed a single tear.

"I must speak with you seriously."

"Is something wrong?"

"No, no of course not."

"Then why are you sad?"

I sigh and stand up bringing her to sit on the bed with me.

"That bad man," I go as she stares intensely. Seeming nervous. "He used to be a very good friend of mine," I tell her with a forced smile.

"Really?" She asks incredulously.

I nod.

"What happened?"

"I don't know," I say truthfully which hardly satisfies her.
"Which is why I must go back home," I say and I hate how her face falls.

"You're leaving?"

"Yes," I nod painfully.

I can see the pure sadness wash over her and for a moment I let the delusion of bringing her with me sink in for only a moment.

"But not forever," I clarify.

"Take me with you," she asks instantly, holding onto my arm.

I shake my head and look down at her hand before placing mine on top of hers.

"I'm afraid right now it's not safe for me to take you. Besides, your family is here. Your father is here," I tell her.

Despite the fact that her lousy excuse of a father isn't the best to her, he's still her father and I can't just take her from him.
