Chapter 31: Betrayal

"What's happening?" I ask my Assistant Irene while walking towards the entrance of the firm.

I just noticed that there were more security personnel than usual. My heart started racing as I realized that my life was really in danger. Yung kilabot nandito na naman, inaasahan ko na ito after I reported the second death threat I've received to Bomi.

"Your cousin Bomi, Madame. She will explain."

Tumango lang ako.

I tried to remain calm and composed as I approached the security checkpoint. The security guard asked for my ID and I handed it over, trying my best to hide my anxiety. As he scanned my ID, I couldn't help but feel like someone was watching me. And why the hell there's too many people here?! Dati hindi naman ako takot sa mga maraming tao pero ngayon iba na dulot ng nangyayari sakin. Na fefeel ko na nandito lang sa paligid ang taong nagpapadala sakin ng Death threat. Like, that person always watching me behind. Kinabahan ako dahil sa iniisip.

I knew that there were people out there who wanted to harm me, and the thought of it made me feel uneasy.

Once my ID was cleared, I was allowed to enter the building. But as I walked through the halls, I noticed that there were more security cameras and guards stationed at every corner. It was clear that my company had taken the threat to my life seriously.

I couldn't help but feel grateful for the extra security measures, but at the same time, I couldn't shake off the feeling of fear and paranoia..

"Glad you're here!" Bungad sakin ni Victoria at niyakap ako. Behind her is Maui.

"What.. happened?"

She sigh and look around."It's about you."

"Let's get her inside." Seryuso sabi ni Maui at humakbang palapit sakin. To guide me.

Tumango si Victoria at nauna maglakad to guide me too.As we entered my office, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I knew that I had to be extra careful from now on. My life was in danger, and I had to do everything in my power to protect myself.

The room was tense as Bomi walked in with a file in her hand. She's with her mens. She looked at me and said, "We have an update on the death threat you received."

I leaned forward, my heart racing with anticipation. "Who sent it?" I asked.

She cleared her throat and opened the file.

"We traced the email  to an anonymous account, but we were able to track the IP address to a nearby location."

My mind raced as I tried to piece together who could have sent the threat. Was it someone I knew? A stranger with a grudge?

Bomi continued, "We have surveillance footage of the person who sent the email. We're currently working on identifying the suspect."

I let out a sigh of relief knowing that she were making progress. "Thank you for keeping me updated, and safe Bomi.." I said.

"That's not all…this was found in your office today."

She put a brown envelope on my table. I swallowed before trying to open it. Dahan dahan ko kinuha ang loob nito. And i was shock, when i saw my pictures alone in my penthouse, kuha ito sa labas ng penthouse, I was looking at the wall glass, mukhang kuha ito sa kabilang building. Hindi lang yun, may picture rin ako mag isa habang nasa parking lot,here sa firm, and sa construction site.

I've been followed by this person who wants to kill me..

Then I didn't even know that.

"It's better if you lay low for now Skye." Bomi suggested.
