Sophomore year started it was August and I went to my first class chemistry. I had a minor in science hoping to find a reason for my strange powers. We all have lab partner who we be working with for the rest of the semester. Our lab partner is also the person that sits next to you for the rest of semester as well. I got to class and sat in the sit that me and my partner where assigned. Time passes and everyone was in the class and the teacher started to to take attendance. I look to my side no one. Where the hell is my lab partner. It's the first day and he's not even here.
I only know his name it's Cyrus. The teacher eventually came to my name and my partners name.
"Melanie is here. And as for Cyrus I'll mark him absent. On first day really." The teacher said
"I feel bad for the poor girl she gonna have to do all her projects by herself. Cyrus got take the class again because he rarely shows up to class." A girl says
"Not only that's I doubt she wants him to show he's always getting into fights and I heard he's part a underground organization that deals drugs." One guy says
"Alright now we done with attendance I'm gonna give you break down on how this semester gonna go then we will start you guys for your first project." The teacher
"Ouch unlucky first day of class and you have lab partner that gonna make you do all the work." One my classmates says to me
What the hell there's no way I'm gonna let this Cyrus guy take advantage of me and make me do all work I will hunt him down myself.
When I told Kat about Chemistry she was laughing.
"You think this is funny?" I say to her angrily
"Sorry Melanie but you never gotten worked up like this before. If you want I can help you with the project." Kat says
"No that be letting him off the hook. He's gonna regret not showing up to class." I say
"This is the first time I ever seen you interested in boy and it just to make him do schoolwork well a win is a win for me." Kat say
"Yeah whatever, here." I say handing a invitation to Kat
"Ahhh is it I think it this!??!" Kat screams jumping up and down
"Yup the invitation to the biggest start of semester party at an even bigger sorority." I say with less enthusiasm
"And we are totally going. I'm so excited oh let's go!" Kat says grabbing me and dragging me out the door
"Where are we going Kat?" I ask as we was half way through the door
"The mall of course we can't just wear no ordinary party outfit. So let's go." She says doing one final pull out the door
We arrived at the mall and she dragged me around for a half an hour trying on clothes from different places. Then we hit one store. Kat found a cute outfit and some shoes. Later Kat grab a red dress and some black boots along with a jacket that was also black. She told me to try one the outfit she picked. It fit like a glove on me. She was excited, she paid for the clothes and we went home.
The next day was Friday the party was tonight but I need to find my lab partner. I talk to the teacher to see if she knows what dorm room he is in.
"Listen I know you upset but he doesn't live in a dorm room on campus Melanie." The teacher
"What?! that's impossible! All students from freshman to sophomore are required to live in dorms or on campuses apartments. No exceptions." I say raising my voice
"That's true but he's not a freshman or a sophomore so the rules don't apply to him." She says
"That's doesn't make any sense how is he not a sophomore but he's taking sophomore level class that you get two chances to take and pass before your sophomore year is over and not mention summer classes." I says angrily
