Kabanata 14

"Ruelle, tawag ka daw ni RDV." Untag ni Hailey sa'kin. Ako naman na busy sa pagcompose ng kanta.

"Ngayon na ba?" Bagot kong bungad dito.

"Baka bukas, sis." Walang kwentang sagot nito saka ako inirapan at nauna na sa Office ni Miss Sungit. Palapagpasin ko yung pag-irap na 'yon pero si Reverence Villafuente lang ang may VIP pass sa pag-irap-irap na 'yan kasi kinaganda niya 'yon.

Kahit tinatamad ay tumayo ako sinundan ko na si Hail. Wala din naman akong magagawa. Si boss na ang magpatawag. Hindi naman sa pagiging under. Pero kailangan nating maging cooperative. At lalo na kahapon ay bad shot ako kay boss.

Narating naman namin ang opisina ni RDV na ngayon ay busy sa pagtipa sa kaniyang laptop.

She unconsciously bit her lower lip before licking it. At ako naman doon napatingin. Nang mag-angat naman ito ng tingin. Her eyes remain different this time.

"Glad you two are here," She said monotonously. Napilitan lang talaga siya.

Hindi naman ako umimik. Dahil feel ko may something. At hindi ko lang sure kung ano.

"The Dean didn't inform you all that you will attending a conference in Pampanga tomorrow?" She asked, her tone remain the same.

"No, Prof. Ni-brief lang po kami na pumunta sa office niyo kanina." Si Hailey naman ay maagap na sumagot.

"Hmm, okay. Your department head is busy. They will be having a board meeting with the sister school of Allejo overseas. And that leave me with no choice but to took over their position." Saad nito while glancing back to her laptop.

Nag-angat ulit ito ng tingin at noong mapansin ang mukha namin na tila takang-taka kung bakit kami nandito ay saka siya nagpatuloy.

" We will have a 2 days Business Conference in Pampanga. Your uppercalssmen have their own but in different location. Any concerns?" She offered while looking to both of us.

"Bakit po kami nandito?" I asked, finally.

"Since, I will be needing people who will disperse the message. I hate repeating myself. I do, believe you have your respective group chats. Announce what needs to announce later after I am done briefing both of you." Masungit na sagot nito sa'kin. At tila nagulat din si Hail sa pag-iba ng tono ng magandang masungit na anak ni Richard Villafuente.

"Sungit," Bulong ko.

"Make sure you will speak louder when I am around, Constantine. So, I can hear you." Professor Villafuente said with a sass.

Mabuti na lang attractive ang kasungitan na 'yan, Villafuente.

Tumahimik na lang ako dahil ayokong bumingo sa kaniya. At ngayon din ang alis nila Mom nag-text sa'kin. At kailangan ko bantayan ang unica hija nila na may sama ata ng loob sa'kin. Wala naman akong atraso sa kaniya.

Si Hail naman ay naka-ngisi habang naka-yuko. Alam kong nagpipigil ng tawa niya. Tanggal angas ko sa harap ni Hail. Shut up talaga kasi agad sabi ni Boss.

Ganun talaga ang love language niya ang sungitan ako forever and always. Na buti na lang ay kinaganda niya.

"The call time would be 4:00 am sharp. The Bus service will be on the road at 4:30. To those who don't want to join the service feel free to drive all the way to Pampanga. But make sure they will make it before 9 am or they will face the consequences. Tell that to your classmates. Bring their own food if they want to eat during the ride. But the school provided good accommodation and food in Pampanga. Also, bring whatever is necessary. Especially, laptops. And you guys need to take notes. Especially, if they will start discussing finance and accounting. And you two are assigned to assist the faculty for the whole conference event." She said eloquently. Her tone is definitely alluring.
